Last night my wife and I dined at Riva for the first time. It was such a wonderful experience that we had to write a review. I ordered the chicken marsala which had a delicious crust on the outside, combined with perfectly cooked noodles. My wife had the short ribs and said they were the most tender she has ever had—cut-them-with-your-fork tender. Joseph, our server, was pleasant, funny, and helpful. All in all, it was a “perfect storm” of a dining experience: delicious food, attentive service, and warm ambiance. What more can anyone ask for!

I absolutely loved the waitresses. They were very accommodating. My husband and I ordered a few appetizers and chowder ~ which wasn’t creamy (it was kind of soupy) and had very few clams. Hence the four stars. It definitely was cozy with a comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely end up going there again to sample other menu items. Again, the wait staff were wonderful.

Service was good, but the menu online didn’t match what was there that night and I had to change my plans for my meal, but what I did have (chicken parmigiana) was still pretty good. my husband had a pork special and my grandmother had the shrimp bruschetta and she loved it.

This is a tiny restaurant, so if you go on a weekend you might want to make a reservation.

A small charming restaurant very popular with the locals. The main restaurant is good for a casual date night, and there are 6 to 8 high top tables at the back bar where you can keep an eye on local sports while you eat. Its very busy on the weekends in the summer. The food is really good and consistent, and the wine list is also good mostly Italian wines though.

We hadn’t planned on going there but it was a nice treat that they had a table open on their patio when are other plans fell through. We ended up trying the tuna app, the fried plantains, the chicken parm, the short ribs and the glazed salmon. My daughter thought the tuna had way too much sauce on it… She was not loving that, but the fried plantains were nice. Chicken parm was pretty basic but the short ribs were excellent if a little salty. The salmon was well cooked and flavorful. I kind of wish they had served more vegetables on the side instead the green salad though. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely… Will go back again 🙂

Very small intimate restaurant located in the heart of Scituate’s harbor. It’s a nice place for special ocassions. There’s a bar in the back, and seating outside if weather permits. The menu is small but touches on many tastes, with some unique pairings. Staff is prompt, attentive, knowledgeable and skilled. Always a great experience.

I’ve tried several menu items, all good, but oh, those short ribs. I can’t get enough.

The food has always been wonderful, but it’s awfully difficult to make a reservation here. This morning I attempted to use the “Reserve a Table” function under the restaurants google search results, and never heard back. When I called at 330pm to check, I was told repeatedly by the woman on the phone that I must be looking at the wrong Riva, as “we don’t do google.” Ultimately, I waited all day and never got a reservation. Maybe the issue could be addressed so people don’t make the same mistake in the future.

First time there. My chicken dish was great but while my wife’s shrimp meal was tasty it was short on shrimp. Good Irish Coffees.

If you’re looking for a wonderful night out with dinner, check out Riva Restaurant on Front St. in Scituate. Good attentive service in the bar area. with high-top tables. The main restaurant has a varied menu to please many tastes. During the warmer months there’s an outside dining area. Most weekend nights and Sundays entertainment is provided. Riva’s a great local spot. Give it a try.

Excellent service, quaint decor. But sadly the food was very under salted, and no salt was presented on the table. Chicken was tough and should have been brined. Pasta was served with cheap parmesan. Up your game, Riva! I know you can do it!
