For an inexpensive place, it’s pretty good. The portions were generous, and it works well if you’re looking for a quick bite or small plates without spending a lot.
What I enjoyed:
The enchiladas were my favorite — very good.
The taquitos were also well done and flavorful.
I asked for flour tortillas with butter, which they gladly brought out (just make sure to request it).
The mango beer was excellent — definitely a highlight.
They offer happy hour drinks, and it wasn’t overly busy when I went.
They also have a large outdoor patio, which is nice if you enjoy sitting outside. Next door there appears to be more of a biker-style bar atmosphere, which gives the area a very casual, laid-back feel.
There was a small mix-up at first — I ordered a beef enchilada but was given chicken by mistake. However, they handled it properly and didn’t charge me for the error, which I appreciated.
I didn’t try the fish tacos. The only reason is that I had read mixed reviews about the fish beforehand, so I chose other items instead.
Overall, it’s not fancy dining — but for the price, the portions, and the relaxed vibe, it’s a solid, affordable option.
First off we didn’t realize HOW MASSIVE this property is! Talk about epic patio vibes! A deck patio, dirt area full with trees and shade. They even have lots of indoor seating options as well and a bar area.
If you’re a sports lover they legit have wall-to-wall TVs indoors and outdoors on their deck area! Plus they have a speakeasy-style tequila and mezcal bar that opens around 7pm (unfortunately it was closed when we got there!)
We heard good thinks about heir food, so it was hard to choose, but we landed on their new protein bowl and some tacos. The bowl was packed with flavor and full nutrition facts ( on website) — huge win for anyone who tracks their intake or just wants to eat more protein and veggies without sacrificing taste. Tacowise we got a couple different tacos (Crispy Flounder, Shrimp and their wild Caught Fish Tacos). Also tasty, but the crispy flounder was a standout!
Drink wise we got a cadillac margarita, coco rita and a beer/ They even have happy hour specials to check out!
This spot literally checks every box — chill hangout, date night, game day, party, etc… They even have a halloween maze they’re building on site which looks epic!
Overall great food, amazing energy, and a patio that’s hard to beat. Highly recommend!
Family night, date night, girls night, boys nights, even single night: everyone will make you feel welcome!
The food is DELICIOUS. I’ve had their food fresh and to go, both outstanding!
Service: 1000/100
JP is our favorite and they have another location opening downtown 🙂
Wahoo’s is for the everyone in the hill country and soon downtown ♥️
Sorry for the picture, we were too excited to taste and forgot to take it first!!
Pro Tip- indoor and outdoor seating and would be a fantastic spot to watch a game
The atmosphere is nice. They have some daily specials for drinks.
