Stopped here on a long drive headed North and was very pleased! Ordered two burritos, two potato wedges, and a fried tofu and came away for less than $20 with two comfortably full bellies. Lots of sauce options, but honestly didn’t feel like the food required the sauces since everything was seasoned well enough as is.
Very pleased. Will definitely pop by again next time we drive through!

This place is so much fun and perfect for pennywise veg-curious and vegan alike. We had the breakfast burrito combo, a soda, a bag of cookies and the lentil bowl all for $25. And they were regular sized servings – compared to anywhere else in Eugene this place is very affordable. The food was delicious! The panko tofu in the lentil bowl was super yummy, the salads were generous and not just basic lettuce. The potato wedges were to die for. I would have liked some veggies in the burrito, but I know that’s not what most people want, so I get it. The service was really fast and very friendly.
The decor / ambiance is also really fun. They have a mini arcade where you can play Pacheco (and use your winnings to get silly arcade-style toys) and also pinball and a Mario brothers arcade game.

We are visiting from out of state and saw Darlenes on the map and decided to try it, super happy we did. We even went a second time during our short stay!
As two traveling vegans running on savings it’s hard to find affordable options in many cities/states we go to, not at Darlenes though! We were able to try their Pier Burger, fries, cheeseburger, baked tofu, and the breakfast burrito. (not all at once – haha)
Our favorite was definitely the Pier Burger, such a fun menu item! Second favorite would be the baked tofu, especially dipped in the vegan ranch.
Not only was the food good and affordable but the atmosphere and the service were both 10/10, super nice people!
They were a warm welcome to Eugene on our first day here and a new comfort food to go back the next day, will always stop by here when traveling through in the future!

I really struggled whether I should post a review or not but here we are. I have just recently discovered this place by happen stance and am afraid if they get to popular the menu prices might go up. I MEAN COME ON 5 BUCKS FOR A VEGAN BURRITO!! Usually when I think vegan food i expect bland and small portions but that just was not the case. They offer a wide selection of sauces for free and I grabbed some and now they are unused sitting in the fridge cause of the ammount of flavor packed into the food. This place will now be lunch spot when ever I am in 20 minutes of driving distance. I am excited to bring my 2 year old there next time I go cause they have an arcade, pinball and another gaming machine in there! Between the atmosphere, food, pricing and cleanliness of the restaurant I am in awe of this diamond in the rough. I really hope people get to experience what I have here and give them a shot. I would never even had guessed what I had eaten was vegan, so if you just want a delicious burrito for a great and I mean great price this is the spot.

Delicious and affordable vegetarian food in a fun and friendly diner set-up! This is my favorite new restaurant since Tiger Mama. All the dishes are inspired by various fast food items of the past. And I will say, service was quite fast especially considering this is real food that’s not just being reheated or microwaved.
We ordered the combo burrito, lentil bowl, potato wedges and pier burger. The whole order was out pretty quick, and everything was hot. Combo burrito is crazy filling for only $5 (as of 2024) and the soy chorizo is delicious. I added hot honey and sauce for a little more flavor. Potato wedges are pretty good, crispy skin and fluffy potato inside.
The lentil bowl was my favorite item though. The fried tofu was delicious dipped in ketchup, the jasmine rice is fragrant, and the curry and lentils were really flavorful.
As far as the atmosphere, it’s kind of a retro diner from another dimension I guess? It’s fun! There’s pachinko machines, Mario arcade and a pinball machine. It’s a fun little activity while you wait for your food.
In summary: really delicious and filling fresh made vegetarian food (with gluten free and dairy free options). And actually affordable, more so than most of the other restaurants in Eugene. I highly recommend Darlene’s Veg!

My kids and I enjoy going to Darlene’s. The food is tasty, fresh and affordable. We especially like their dishes that include refried beans. The potato wedges are excellent . Darlene’s gets extra credit for having kids prizes that they can win playing vintage pachinko. Also, cool Star Trek TNG pinball.

Wow! This place is awesome for a healthy, quick, inexpensive option! We had a lentil bowl with tofu. Best tofu we’ve ever had! My husband thought it was chicken!?! And the flavors were amazing. We also had the nondairy burrito. Oh yum! So tasty and filing and very flavorful. We also had the baked potato wedges. Also great and perfect amount. Darlene’s Veg is excellent on all levels! Thanks for being in Eugene! Can’t wait to eat there again!

I had a great meal here when I was in town visiting. I wish we had a place like this back home. All the different flavors of the lentil bowl were amazing. My daughter had the salad with baked tofu and potato wedges and they were also delicious. With the games and interesting artwork, this is a great place to bring the kids too. Plus the prices are beyond reasonable. In fact, they are out of this world, kind of like Darlene, the intergalactic hedgehog. I saw people order multiple menu items to get a taste of everything they offer, which makes sense since the prices are so good, and I wish I had done the same.

This place is the best! The food is delicious and healthy, even for feeling like the perfect comfort/stoner food. The prices are pretty insanely low for what you get, too. Vegetarians and even carnivores should check Darlene’s out stat!

This place is incredible in every way. I don’t even quite know how to describe it! I tried the lentil bowl on this occasion. The spinach and lentils were like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I think the cashew cheese maybe had curry powder in it?!? Anyway, I inhaled the whole thing, and I think I may have scared my boyfriend a little when I had to restrain myself from licking the bowl. Gotta check this place out! So, soooo good! The owners are just lovely people as well.
