Where do I even start? My fiancé and I stumbled on this absolute gem randomly the week after they opened. We have been back twice since!
The owner and her waitstaff are incredible! They are welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable! She also makes the drinks at the bar and they are always so good!
I have planned trips up to Lava just for an excuse to bring my fiancé here. They have a rotating seasonal menu and I can’t wait to try their winter options!
We always end up getting a few drinks, appetizers, and sometimes dessert! My favorite meal so far was the steak frites! The steak was seasoned perfectly and the fries were so good! I also super enjoyed the goat cheese pasta!

We have a few different places in the Lava Hot Springs and Soda Springs area and so far this has been the best place to go sit down to eat. The location is small so you’ll want to make sure to call ahead to get a spot. I got the chicken Parmesan and my husband got one of the burgers. He said it was best one he has had around this area. The chicken parm was good but I did not like that there was still a bone in the chicken. The pasta, cooked in wine, enhances the overall presentation, but not so much the flavor. I really only wanted to try it for the burrata. The burrata made the rest of the food better. Though, my favorite food we had that night was the appetizer. We got the bread and oil board and I could have just eaten that the whole meal. It was delicious. Definitely worth a try!

This place was fantastic. Way above expectations. Our waitress Carol went way above and beyond. Food was presented beautifully and taste was fantastic! Highly recommend this place. The mushroom dip was great with patty added. The mahi mahi fish and chips was the best ever. Salmon and pot roast excellent too.

What a great dining experience the wife and I had here for our 1st year marriage anniversary ! As you walk through the door you can feel the warm energy & welcoming presence , With dimmed lighting creating calming atmosphere & such pleasant smells coming from the kitchen.
We were promptly welcomed in by the owner Carol who at the time was working the entry booth . She was very kind and even took the time to come chat with us for a bit at our table just to thank us for giving them a try and let us know about some of the specials dishes for that night .
As follows her staff seemed just as nice and bubbly. They all seemed to be in sync and have kind of a family vibe going on . Unfortunately I forgot our waitresses name but she was phenomenal! So nice & very attentive and knowledgeable on both the food and drink menu .
As for the food …. Amazing ! Started with their sriracha honey Brussel sprouts & wow ! They had such a good flavor & the honey siracha was such a perfect mix not too spicy or sweet and melted in your mouth with flavor.
For our entrees we both had their nightly/weekend special which was the wagyu beef tips (also melted in your mouth ) that had a side of mild horse radish sauce for dipping . Served with fresh broccoli, turnips, garlic & delicious aioli mashed potatoes. I also enjoyed a blackberry whisky mixed drink , the wife just stuck with water . It was delicious & complimented the meal well. We were so full we didn’t end up trying the desserts they offered but I would assume they were just as flavorful and delicious .
If you’re visiting Lava and wondering which restaurant to try while there . Make this your top priority because it’s hands down the best one in that little town . We’ve been going to lava for years and have tried them all, definitely not bashing or taking away from any of the establishments but hands down ROGUE is NUMBER ONE .
From the great atmosphere , to an amazing upbeat staff & of course the most important part, top notch food! I must say kudos to the chef to I could see him back there non stop filling orders and whipping up some mean dishes . We were very satisfied in every manner and will definitely be returning on our getaways to the springs.
Thanks again Carol what a great establishment . Also to our wonderful waitress and top tier chef for making our 1 year that much more special . We can’t wait to come back and visit and try some of the other dishes you have to offer. Mmmmmmm

Wow.. the food and staff were beyond our expectations, not just for lava food (which is usually just O.K.) but in general! The food was delicious and everything is made from scratch. I had the black and blue(surf and turf) and the steak was the best I’ve ever had, including anywhere I’ve eaten in Idaho or Utah. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. If you’re thinking of trying out this new place in lava it’s well worth your money and time!! We will be coming back… a LOT

This is my second time back! I heard that they had fried sauce so I definitely had to give it a try and I can say this, it did not disappoint. I had to get the brussels sprouts again. They are going to be a staple for me every time I visit. What I noticed this time around was just the extra attention to detail that the chefs take to make sure the food looks great and tastes even better. You can really tell that they care about what they do.
I also got the plain Jane burger and there’s not really anything plain about it. It’s still made really great.

Absolutely awesome experience! Im staying here for work travel, was not expecting such phenomenal food. I had the ravioli ehich was great, but the real star of the show was the steak bites appetizer: the bites were SO TENDER, and that foccasia bread is to die for! I could seriously just order a couple plates of that appetizer and call it a meal. Tge service was super friendly and down-to-earth, just really cool people!
Our team came here again but I forgot to get photos of the meal. The pot roast is perfect after a long and cold work shift, so cozy and savory! Best food in town, I can’t recommend it enough!

I was recently in town for my Anniversary. This was the first place we ate at in town and basically the only one we ate at the entire time we stayed. The owner and her staff are so welcoming and fun to talk with. The waitresses have such amazing personalities. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Not bright, has a low light mood. This place doesnt have cooks…They have chefs that make sure you have the best foodie experience with bold fresh flavors and out of the box combinations. These guys will leave you struggling internally to order or not to order the entire menu! Kudos to this establishment and I wish nothing but good fortune on them. When it comes a great experience I would definitely recommend. Always make a reservation! Follow them on Facebook!

This place is absolutely amazing! By far the best food I’ve had on this side of Idaho. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and creates such a nice atmosphere. Service here has also been wonderful and the staff are all so sweet and accommodating. Cannot speak enough praise about the chef and the food, it’s a diversely curated menu with everything executed to perfection. The Rogue is absolutely a must try for anyone on this side of the state or just traveling through.
