Los Machetes is a family owned authentic Mexican restaurant with recipes passed down through generations of family members. The recipes date back to pre-colonial times. The molé sauce in Mama Tere’s Enchiladas are one of the many recipes used by the owners ancestors. Also all of the dishes sold at Los Machetes is seasoned with a traditional home-made seasoning. Los Machetes’ name comes from the traditional dish which we sell called the Machete. The Machete is a long and narrow shaped quesadilla that looks like the real machete. It comes from the state of Chiapas in Mexico. Chiapas is a state in the jungle which borders Guatemala. The Machete was created in the city of Tapachula in the 1500s was originally named Quesadilla de Tapachula.

The first time I stopped in to eat is when they only accepted cash. I only had my debit card on me, so we left. So I finally got back today to try it, and it was AMAZING!! I’m sorry I didn’t come back sooner. The atmosphere and food were perfect. The only thing they didn’t have was Horchata. And now they accept credit and debit cards. We will be regulars for now on.

Really good authentic Mexican food. I had the carne asada platter. The steak was tender and delicious. It also came with black beans and Mexican style rice. Both the beans and the rice were also delicious. The real star of the meal was the home made corn tortillas. I really like the jarritos lime soda or the non alcoholic sangria

Ok, this place is on our list for future meals.
The nachos, great flavor, loaded with rich toppings, had a few super crisp carnitas wedges, and chips had a hearty crunch. The empanadas (2) with carnitas were rich, stuffed with filling, and could easily cover a dinner plate. The burrito with chorizo was well portioned, stuffed too the brim, sided with smoky black beans and rice, the flour wrap was light but strong enough to hold the tasty contents, and was well seasoned.
No review on the guacamole but my better half said it was fantastic.

Super cute inside. Love the real flowers. The food is excellent. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable. We didn’t wait for water refills or anything. The fresh pico is killer! The coctel app was very good! Sopas were so fresh and delicious. But the best part of the whole meal – the Tres Leches with raspberry! Go get some! The tiramisu was delicious too! BYOB.

Delicious, authentic Mexican food with a fun, enchanting vibe. The decor is bright and beautiful with linen white tablecloth and linen napkins. A little more upscale, the kids menu was only 2 items. My kids got the nacho platter and were very satisfied. The sauces brought to the table are phenomenal and house made along with all other ingredients. Service was top notch.

Went here on a whim for the first time and it was truly something special and unique. The quality of the food was fantastic. The service and attention to detail was spectacular and we were truly impressed by this restaurant. Don’t let the outside deceive you, this is a gem of a place, definitely try to go, because we will definitely be back.
