Chicken bacon ranch was supposed to be toasted but definitely wasn’t toasted – was the bread even fully baked? Something had a moldy or funky taste that is still lingering hours later. Pretty sure that sammie ruined it for me ever eating at Subway again. :/

I’ve been a loyal customer of the Polk City Subway for over 12 years and used to stop in about once a week. Unfortunately, since the recent ownership change, the quality and overall experience have declined significantly.
This location used to have wonderful local employees who knew their customers and consistently made great sandwiches. Many of those familiar faces are gone now, which is disappointing in a small community where people really valued them.
The sandwiches themselves have also become very inconsistent. The way they’re assembled often seems off, with odd ratios of toppings and condiments. My most recent visit was especially disappointing, the bread on my sub wasn’t fully baked, so the sandwich fell apart and I ended up having to eat just the toppings.
Polk City has supported this location for many years, and many of us have been long-time regular customers. Right now the quality and experience are not matching what people here have come to expect, and unfortunately it’s the kind of thing that will cause loyal customers to stop coming if it doesn’t improve.
I hope the new owners take this feedback seriously and work toward bringing the quality and consistency back to what made this location such a great stop for the community.

I am not a big Subway fan but my son likes Subway so stopped by Subway in Polk City. It was 6 pm on Saturday night. The “Open” sign was on, all the lights were on and there was a delivery truck unloading at the store and a there was a woman inside that appeared to be making a sandwich. in addition to the “Open Drive Thru” light being on, there was a handwritten sign that said “Drive thru Only! Closed until Truck is gone”. I read that to mean that we needed to go through drive-thru so I went to the drive thru. The person working in the store got in the intercom and said “the store was closed”. I said she should change her sign because the sign said it was open. She response was rude and condescending. I have never had a bad experience until this one. She shouldn’t be allowed to talk to customers if she thinks that kind of response is ok. I was surprised at the response but my kids said that the store had a negative reputation so they weren’t surprised at all. Either way, not a good experience. The fact that this is how it should go down for a restaurant at exactly 6pm on a Saturday night seems crazy. Why was this woman by herself at 6pm on Saturday? That might explain why she was so rude. It may very well been have been because of
the position she was put in.

My experience wasn’t bad, and the food was ok. My complaint is with the offer of a free cookie after you complete a 1 minute survey online. This is what it says on the receipt you get when you pay for your food. I went to the website and a screen came up that said this page was no longer there. It directed me to go to the Subway website and complete it there. Well I couldn’t find it there anyway. So if you read on your survey that you can take a survey and get a free cookie don’t bank on it!

Unbelievably terrible service. I came in to order 2 dippers and asked if they could put jalapeños on for me. I even offered to pay extra. The girl behind the counter told me no, not even if I paid more.. as to say the customer isn’t right. She was extremely rude and told the other worker not to roll them into dippers. So, I left with one flatbread, as that was the only way I could get jalepenos. Didn’t even get the 2 I ordered. Paid $11 for one flatbread instead of $6 (plus jalapeños) for two dippers. With this kind of business model, it’s no surprise the place is almost always empty. I live nearby, but will go out of my way to shop elsewhere from now on.

Everytime we go to this Subway (including tonight) the person putting the toppings on the sandwich is also the one ringing people up and they do both WITHOUT CHANGING THEIR GLOVES! Why don’t I just come back there and lick the cash register while we’re at it!? They also alway use their gloved hands to wipe the dropped peices of food into the garbage openings. I know that counter is not clean because I also see them set the refill containers on them and the bottom of those containers have been who knows where – plus they are the same gloves that they were ringing people up in too! All of these things are disgusting and the employees should be trained better.

Service was exceptional. Two gals and very professional with greeting and parting phrases. Did tremendous job answering questions about new items . Prepared great tasting products.
They just worked well as a team.
If I wasn’t retired and needed some team members I would be offering them the world to come work for me .
Two great ambassadors for this location and the brand.

Came in around 8pm to pick up me and a coworker order, the young lady told me she was just about to call me because they didn’t have turkey. I asked for a refund and my coworker changed her sandwich. As she making my coworker sandwich I changed my mind and decide to get something else since I didnt have time go anywhere else. My lunch break is only 30mins. Her smile went upside down she had the biggest attitude making my sandwich mind you it’s 8pm the store don’t close till 9pm. Half of everything is already put a way. So she had to go to the back to get me ranch and mayo. I also ordered online before twice and asked for guacamole on my sandwich and it didn’t have it. So I paid twice for it and didn’t receive it when I asked why they said they put it up at 8oclock so if that’s the case why don’t they offer a refund ?

Placed order through the app. It was my fault for not checking the bag before I left, but I put too much trust in them getting the order right. Sandwich was supposed to be footlong but they made a 6”. After engaging in conversation with a representative of that store, they have not replied to my last 2 emails to make right what they are due to. That and the bread was not fresh. Order was placed at 5:30pm.

We placed an order over the phone at 3 minutes away, it was close to closing, which I understand is frustrating. The server over the phone initially refused our order, until she realized we were close, she yelled at my friend multiple times who was trying to order a specific cheese that they didn’t have, as if we had the menu memorized, and she kept telling us that the doors would be locked when we got there even though we would be there before close. I have worked in fast food, I understand the frustration with last minute orders, but it’s 7pm. We are not holding them out until 11:30 on a school night like I used to have to deal with, and the sandwiches take just a few minutes to make and she could have them done before close. We have sick people at home, this is the only quick restaurant in town, we needed food, and her behavior was absolutely inappropriate. Horrid service, the most rudely I’ve ever been treated.
