I decided to try something different and new for breakfast while the family was out of town. Kept seeing people talk about Rover Drive Breakfast Parlor in Moline so I drove over. Let’s just say I am so glad I did. I got the carnivor omelet with hash browns and white toasts. When it came out and it came out steaming and the portion was very big. The omelet was cooked to perfection with plenty of meat and cheese in it as well. Oh let me tell you about the hash browns some of the best hash browns I’ve had around the QC area they actually were seasoned instead of plain which you can’t find much around here. Seems like they salt and pepper the hash browns as they cook and thats what sets them apart.
The waitress was very friendly and polite and very tentative as well. This place is very nice inside with a bar type diner counter you can sit at. Its very roomy in there with a lot culture in the restaurant too. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast and to go with family. Excited to try more of their menu items especially the pancakes.

Decided to try something new for a weekend breakfast joint and came across the river. It’s a nice place. The chairs are a little tattered as I understand they were a Mexican restaurant before switching to a breakfast/lunch place.
The food. I had the chorizo omelete, which was quite good. Asked for the hashbrowns to be cooked crispy and they were a bit overdone. Wife had a Denver omelete, which has to be a special order because they don’t have that on their menu. She had French toast with it that she said was good.
The big problem was it took what felt like forever to get attended to once seated. And it took a long time to get our food. To the point that it was barely warm when we got it. Also only got 1 slice of bread, both roast and French toast. Now, while all the food was more than enough, I still like 2 pieces of toast with my meal. Coffee was decent, standard restaurant coffee. Wife had hot tea, now she prefers an herbal tea and the server did not all he just brought a black tea bag for her.
So the guys running the place are very friendly and admitted they were shorthanded and took off some $ for our being so slow. Our experience wasn’t bad, minus the waiting, and the food would have been really good if it had been hot. So we will give this place another try in the future.
On a side note, many places in the QC are a one and done for us. The food is just not good enough to bother with wasting the money going back and try again.

We had such a wonderful experience here for lunch for our daughter’s birthday. Off the bat, they were incredibly accommodating, even allowing us to make a reservation, which is so rare these days and SO appreciated. They prepared their private dinning room for 16+ of us. The private dinning room was bright, comfortable, and easily accessible.
The food was delicious had lots of options. The orange juice was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Our food took a little while to come out – completely understandable with such a large group. Nonetheless, it was well worth the wait! The owner was also very friendly and engaged, which really added a personal touch to the experience. We’re so glad we chose this place to celebrate and will absolutely be back!

Had a wonderful experience. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Our server Kimberly was an absolute delight. The owner came and chatted with us; you could tell he takes pride in his business. We even got to try a complimentary bowl of cream of potato soup (Yummy!) It’s a family owned local business which I love to support. We are leaving here with full tummies and smiles on our faces.

This is our first time trying the food and it was amazing. One of the owners seated us and talked to us for a few minutes. This place is a must to try.

This was our first time visiting River Drive Breakfast Parlor. We had been to this location when it was a Mexican restaurant. We arrived around 9:00 am and were greeted with a friendly welcome and seated right away. We ordered their River Front Skillet with eggs over easy and Big Morning Platter was to come with bacon and 3 pancakes. The orders were a little off but were taken care of promptly and correctly, which was appreciated. The service providers were tentative and friendly. Apparently this is their second day open and had several customers coming in. The restaurant was bright and clean. People did not have to wait long before being seated. I love looking out with a river view. Being winter the views are not as beautiful but come this spring or summer views should be great! Overall, we had a great experience. Friendly environment with good food at a reasonable price. Menu had many breakfast options or lunch items depending on what you were there for. They are open from 7 am to 3 pm. Plenty of parking close to door. We recommend and will be back.

Fantastic new find in the QC!

We visited River Drive Breakfast Parlor for the first time today and were so impressed. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Manuel (one of the owners), who was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

I had seen some reviews mentioning a wait for service; while it was moderately busy and we did wait a bit, it didn’t bother us at all. The atmosphere is charming and you can’t beat the view! You obviously can’t please everyone but most of those lower rated reviews were biased and not commonsensical in my opinion. You can’t rate food with 4 stars and 1 star for service then give it an overall rating of 1. Their service was exceptional, someone other than our waiter, always ensured our drinks were filled and quickly took our plates away when we were finished. That’s better than some of the finer restaurants in the QC.

Highlights:

Veggie Omelette: Huge and flavorful! My wife shared it with our daughter and they still couldn’t finish it.
My son loved combination platter with eggs, bacon and side of Chocolate Chip Pancakes—they were large, fluffy and tasty.
Pancake Assortment: Great flavors, though the portions were a bit smaller (three smaller pancakes) for the price.
Service: I ordered combo breakfast also with eggs scrambled with cheese which were missed initially, but Manuel fixed it immediately by bringing out a fresh order of eggs cooked perfectly. He also smothered the pancakes with an assortment of fruit and whipped cream and did not upcharge us on any of that as many restaurants do. Absolutely delicious!

Thank you Manuel and River Drive Parlor Team….This is some of the best breakfast we’ve had in the Quad Cities if not the best. We will definitely be back!

I have never had a more horrible horrific experience in a restaurant in my entire life. Do not waste your time or money coming to River Drive breakfast parlor the food had absolutely no flavor and was horrible and the service was atrocious. We ordered an appetizer and after 30 minutes I asked the server if it would be coming out soon and she said sorry we were behind onto go orders. It’ll be right out our food came and she brought the appetizer at that point and I will now we have our food we don’t need an appetizer so we don’t want it and she only dropped off one of the three items for food. She brought the rest of the food 10 minutes later and it was wrong and I said leave the part that’s right and take the part that that’s wrong. It’s been over an hour I would like to eat at least something and she got really snotty and said I’ve been nice to you and I’ve communicated. I said no I’ve had to ask you for everything we have not seen you except for when you brought our drinks and took our order please bring me a manager. I spoke to the manager manager and he would take no accountability just said that they were busier than they normally are had call offs and did nothing but make excuses. I said I’m well aware of what the restaurant business is like as I’ve worked in one of the busier restaurants in the QC for a long time I need you to just take accountability for the fact that you guys screwed up. Hang on, he would not take accountability. Continue to make excuses and made it out like I was being obnoxious for expecting to get my food sooner than an hour and a half and expecting it to be right. If I could give negative stars, I would this experience was so bad that it does not even deserve one star

Just for reference my daughter still paid for her food and I paid for my sons. Even though his chicken sandwich was a joke- so thin you could see through it and soggy fries. $19 for a sandwich that wouldn’t feed a toddler and a pop

From out of town and looked up a breakfast spot near me. Enjoyed the food! Atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly! The cinnamon roll pancake was the best from the River Drive Pancake Flight!

I just happened to find this place when looking for food and so glad I did.
I like the look of this place, it is very nicely decorated and just feels welcoming.
I prefer my waffles just a bit more done, but they were cooked perfectly for 95% of people. The toast was good, but the bacon and sausage patties are amazing!
