Service was great and the place was packed. Clearly a local favorite, and now one of ours as well. We really enjoyed the food and it was reasonably priced. We often find that food that is considered spicy options are a let down. Not here! The Diablo enchiladas were great!

Riveras is just so consistently great that it’s hard to consider any other Mexican restaurant. Our server Carla was wonderful, the margs were outstanding, and all 4 dishes were superb. Love having this true gem in our neighborhood.

I don’t often eat Mexican food but when I do, it’s at Rivera’s. I’ve eaten here twice in the last week and have been amazed both times by not only the flavor and freshness of the food but also the friendliness of the staff. Be forewarned, there is a line starting well before opening to have the opportunity to enjoy this experience.

My husband and I have not dined at Rivera’s in several years. We heard it is closing so we decided to go last Tuesday night. The food was amazing and the service was GREAT, just like years ago. I hate to see this restaurant close. There aren’t to many good ones left. I highly recommend.

First of all let me say there are Mexican restaurants, Authentic Mexican restaurants and then there is Gourmet Authentic Mexican restaurants which is the category that Rivera’s falls into! Jesus and his crew deliver top notch cuisine that will tantalize your tastebuds! Tonight I tried what Chef Jesus had on special which was Pork Belly Tacos! They were delicious, the pork belly was prepared to perfection, tender and packed with flavor, topped with cilantro and julienned radish. Amazing! My fiance likes her dishes spicy hot and Rivera’s meats the mark with their Diablo Steak Enchiladas topped with a Habanero Sauce that is not only very hot and spicy but somehow also packed with incredible flavors! As I looked around the packed dinning room with people eagerly waiting for a table I saw incredible dishes being served and enjoyed. The table next to us had the Chicken Mole which you could tell was made fresh from scratch and looked absolutely delicious. I leaned over and asked them how it was and they both excitedly responded excellent! As I watched many plates of grilled shrimp being delivered to tables I knew we had found a well kept Omaha secret! You must give this place a try, even if you have to wait you will not be disappointed! We came right when they opened at 5 pm on a Wednesday and within 20 minutes the place was packed! Again, this was a Wednesday night, not a Friday or Saturday night but Wednesday! You know they must be doing something right to pack this place mid-week! My hat is off and two thumbs up to Chef Jesus and his crew! We will definitely be back and keep this place as one of our favorites!

Great Mexican food! Best I have had in Omaha as I am visiting from California. Awesome Mole dishes. Seating is limited and this isn’t fast food so plan to wait. I go there when they opened and waiting 45 minutes to be seated. Each meal is prepared individually.

Mediocre Mexican food. My barbacoa tacos were so greasy that I just couldn’t eat them. The grease literally dripped onto the plate. The rice was nicely seasoned but the beans were flavorless.
