It’s been years since I have been to Dragon Palace. Truthfully it’s because I forgot about this Chinese restaurant. They used to be decent, but unfortunately I was not impressed this time. I guess that’s why I never think of coming here. Looking at Yelp, there was no recent menus, which is part of the reason I chose to get takeout here.
I came in on a Sunday evening around 7pm and there was no one customers in the restaurant. There also was no one to greet customers I walked in. The lady working the front was in the kitchen and came out once she realized I had walked in. I decided to order the House Special Family Dinner for 3 at $17.25 per person. They have Gourmet Family Dinner at $17.99 per person, but the kids like the items in the House Special dinner more.
The House Special Dinner comes with
– Appetizers: Fried Prawns and Spring Rolls
– Soup: Hot and Sour or Wonton
– Entrees (for 3): Beef with Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Pork, King Pao Chicken
– Steamed Rice and Fortune Cookies
The food was just average as there is better Chinese food in Vacaville and surrounding areas.
The negative: the fried prawns was replaced with fried cream cheese wontons (didn’t realize until I was home), only had 2 spring rolls instead of 3 (didn’t realize until I was home), was not given the option for hot and sour soup, steam rice was replaced with fried rice (didn’t realize until not realize until I was home) which could be a positive or negative.
Was told the takeout would be ready in 30 minutes and when I came back after 20-25 minutes the order was ready.
I really wish the service, ambiance and food was better. There is just so many better options for food in Vacaville now, so unfortunately I probably wouldn’t be coming back here anytime soon. Hope everyone else have a better experience than myself.

We ordered for take out. Love that the woman on the phone was super patient and helpful when we weren’t exactly sure how much to order and what some dishes included.
She was super kind and offered suggestions even though they seemed busy (we orders on Lunar New Years Day. She never rushed nor acted rude and impatient like some places when you start asking “too many” questions.
Food was good & just in the perfect time like they estimated. We will order again or go eat there. One of the best Chinese places in Vacaville we’ve tried. Good service. Nice family owned business. Good food. Definitely worth supporting.

The very best in Chinese food but slow on service. Portion sizes are good for in house and take out. Garlic ginger fried rice is delicious, the Mandarin chicken delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal from there. Whether eating there or using the take out. Very busy so don’t be in a big rush but well worth the wait. The take out is great also. Try them out.

In our opinion, they are the best Chinese restaurant in town. We love the Honey Walnut Shrimp and those little won tons with cheese inside. We usually have food delivered. They are always prompt and friendly. Prices are not as high as some.

This place has gone slowly downhill! 2-3 years ago was good and consistent. Now mostly bland and overpriced. Probably will look for a new place to order take out. Disappointing rarely answer phone take out times can be way off as they only do online and door dash. It will say 30 minutes but more like an hour + if they are busy.

Visiting Vacaville from the Brentwood area. Decided I wanted Fried Rice. Found Dragon Palace when it was compared to MY favorite Chinese Restaurant, Double Dragon. I’ll start by saying, Dragon Palace DOESN’T come close! I ordered the Garlic and Ginger Rice…HOLD THE PEAS N CARROTS…and add shrimp. They told me 30 minutes when I ordered, actually took 40 minutes! The rice was FULL of Peas n Carrots! The pieces of Ginger were so big, it overwhelmed the flavor of the rice. Garlic flavor, barely noticeable! Alot of the rice was “clunked” together…it just wasn’t a good experience! NOTHING makes me more upset than to order food, with special instructions, pay the high price, just to get home and realize they did it wrong!!! It’s safe to say that this place WILL.NOT get a second strike out of me!

I placed an online order. When I went to go pick it up there was about 6 people waiting for their food. The host was yelling at the customers and then ignored some of us and we didn’t get helped at all. We couldn’t really understand what she was saying. It felt so hostile I left my order.
