Christophe Paume is the rarest of artisans, a third-generation French chocolatier, who grew up in his father’s pâtisserie in Toulouse, France. Alongside his father, he learned to create exquisite French pastry, the highest quality chocolates, and every type of bread imaginable. While it was his passion for fine chocolate that brought him to the United States, it was love that kept him here. In 2009, he married Carly, a sales rep for the same chocolate company he worked for, and they formed Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Pâtissier. Today Christophe and Carly bring their love of artisan chocolate to life with hand-painted chocolates, luscious truffles, chocolate sculptures, and corporate logo chocolates.

My husband was away on a business trip this week to Charleston (his headquarters is there). I sure hate being apart from him, but when he’s in Charleston, he’s near Christophe Artisan Chocolatier – Patissier – and that means when he gets home it’s always Valentine’s Day no matter what time of year it is!

This is real deal French pastries and fine chocolates. The coffee is perfect and my turnover, outstanding. There are other French places that are similar concepts here in Charleston but Christoph’s is unique with very high quality goods. It’s great to see West Ashley have nice things!!!

Just love this place! Your mouth just waters from the scent of deliciousness when walking in! These make perfect gifts for that special someone who has the culinary appreciation of chocolate & pastries. I’ve been to both quaint locations.. they can also custom design.. on this trip we sampled four individual chocolates: lavender caramel, coffee cheesecake, blue cheese & earl grey.. they also have delicious teas too! 3 cute bistro tables w chairs are set up outside at this location.

Every single item here is so delicious! I’ve had their quiche, chocolate croissant, coffee and chocolates. I also got their fall chocolates for friends as gifts and they were super cute. I can’t put into words how incredible this place is – 10/10!

This place is an absolute must if you are craving some amazing sweets. I got a 12 pack of macarons and a Holy City Hello bar and could not stop until all of it was gone. I will definitely be back to try some of the hand painted chocolates, my friend and I were drooling over the menu last night as we shoved macaron after macaron into our mouths.

My boyfriend absolutely loved the chocolate that I got here for him for Valentine’s Day! For handmade, gourmet chocolate, I feel like the prices are reasonable. When you go in the shop, it smells heavenly! You can even see them making the chocolate right there. I got him the peanut butter, mint, salted caramel, and dark chocolate, all in a hand painted dark chocolate heart. He said everything tasted divine!

Went early to pick up pastries for the family for breakfast. Excellent true French pastries. Lots of butter, tender and flaky. All the flavors were fantastic and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Reasonably priced and while I didn’t try the chocolates, they looked excellent.
