I have to update and leave a one star review. Yesterday we ordered two sandwiches, asking for lettuce and tomato on both. My sandwich came out fine, however, my wife’s sandwich was another matter. It was lacking tomato, not a big deal. But in taking off the bun looking for the tomato, we discovered the lettuce has impacted dirt still on the leaf and the rest of it was badly wilted. This is not only disappointing from a place that we had come to enjoy, but also dangerous to the health of their patrons.
My wife and I swing by here A LOT when running weekend errands. Who doesn’t like a chicken salad sandwich? It’s fast, while not being “fast food.” Quality is usually spot on. We like coming here
Update for 2025: The dining room looks the same and still has the same vibe. Cashier/food runner/busser was a friendly young man. The food was good. We enjoyed our meal.
I chose the Trio.. getting Olivia’s Southern Chicken Salad on a croissant, the broccoli salad, and loaded potato soup and a cookie.
The croissant was fresh and soft, the lettuce was limp, the salad was ok. Nothing to write home to my Southern Mama about. The dill pickle slice added some flavor and I’m not a pickle lover.
The broccoli salad was good. I had to keep mixing it to get enough dressing on it to taste it. But when I did it was very good.
The potato soup was lukewarm at best. I think it will be tasty reheated. I brought the salad and soup home. That would be a deal breaker if I had really wanted to eat it there. I want my hot food HOT and my cold food COLD.
I agree with other reviewers– the staff at the window was not very friendly. No smiles. No thank you’s. I think I had frustrated her by saying I had never eaten there before and I needed a minute to look at the menu please.
No reply.
Again as others have said– the prices online were cheaper than the sign.
After paying $11.29 for my lunch I wasn’t going to add another $2 for a drink so I asked for water. I got a child’s size cup.
All in all it was better than a burger and fries but when compared to $11 spent recently at APPLEBEE’S (2 for $22) where we split an appetizer, I had a 6oz steak, garlic mashed potatoes and fresh steamed broccoli ( all delicious BTW)…. it seemed pretty expensive.
I wouldn’t mind trying it again for a light lunch but the service and portions need to improve.
The sweet tea was way too sweet though. My wife did half and half, sweet and un-sweet, and it was unbearably sugary. Enough to make your teeth ache. Good place, give it a shot.
I even had a lady tell me “I forgot she was even here“ when I was waiting for a DoorDash order and laugh. Teach your workers how to respect the people they service.
