BKB Brooklyn Brasserie feels like a true neighborhood restaurant, but one that operates a notch above the usual formula. Tucked into Bed-Stuy, it carries the spirit of a European brasserie without turning it into a theme. You walk in and immediately get the sense that this place was built with intention. Regulars at the bar, a relaxed dining room, but with a concept that’s clearly thought through rather than improvised.

What I appreciate is that the Belgian influence is real. The team behind the restaurant includes people with roots in Belgium and European hospitality, and the menu leans into that tradition in a straightforward way. Moules are the obvious order here, and they deliver: generous portion, properly cooked, flavorful broth, the kind of dish you settle into with bread and don’t rush. The roast chicken is another highlight, simple but well executed, juicy and comforting in the way a brasserie classic should be.

But the real surprise for me was the Negroni. It’s aged in a small barrel and it’s honestly one of the best I’ve had in New York. The aging rounds the bitterness, smooths the edges, and gives the drink a depth that most Negronis never reach.

Overall, BKB captures something rare: the warmth of a neighborhood spot with the discipline of a restaurant that actually has a point of view. It’s casual, but not careless. And that combination is harder to pull off than it looks.

Excellent neighborhood brasserie with a solid food menu and an equally good drinks menu, all fairly priced. The restaurant itself is airy, enjoying wonderful natural light and comfortable seating, with impecable service. I stopped for a quick bite on my way home Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised but the quality of the food and the vibe of the place. I will definitely come back for dinner or an extended brunch.

This newish spot in the neighborhood is amazing. Food is really good as well as the drinks. What I really love about the space is the aesthetic and atmosphere. This place is equally amazing from bar to the floor. I recently stopped by during our “snow storm” and it was the perfect place to be to stay cozy. As someone who works in the industry I’m always judging a spots vibe and this place is it. They’re usually playing some sort of Spanish house music that is such a vibe. I’ve shazamed multiple songs here.
The owners, or maybe managers, are so friendly. You can tell they just genuinely want everyone to have an amazing experience. Only ever sit at the bar, but the bartenders are great as well.
There’s other little details and could add to explain my experience but I’ll leave it as exactly that. This place cares about the little details. In the way they’ve decorated to the way they take care of their patrons. So glad I live close to this spot because it’s definitely my new go to.

BKB was aesthetically pleasing and provided an elegant, warm, and welcoming dining experience, perfect for a romantic date night or a simple casual dinner with friends.

Victoria (Tori) took such amazing care of us throughout the entire night, she was sweet, warm, friendly, and her service was reflective of what exemplary service looks like! The other staff were also pretty on point and helped replace plates quickly without us asking, which we appreciated! Only thing that was a bit off was we got our complimentary bread late where it arrived alongside our main entrees and not alongside our appetizers to start our meal, which kinda overwhelmed us with everything coming all at once.

Our appetizer, the chicken wings with creme fraiche dip was delicious and highly recommend, along with their crispy frites! Now let’s talk about the entrees!

The mussels, steak, and chicken stew pastry were all phenomenal with great flavors and I highly recommend them! However, there is room to make them even more amazing. The mussel were plentiful, fresh, and meaty; it came in a pretty tall pot, where the extremely flavorful broth only reached 1/4th of the mussels on the bottom, resulting in the top being a bit drier than we’d like, which is a simple fix! The steak was very flavorful and paired perfectly with the salad and potato gratin, but it could use a bit more peppercorn sauce since only the top pieces had the most sauce (as evident in the photo) that didn’t trickle down to the other slices; another extremely easy fix! The chicken puff pastry was perfect in flavor and texture (though could use a bit more puff pastry), it just didn’t really look that aesthetically pleasing as you can see from the photo, where it looks like just a blob; I believe a bit more pastry or a bigger piece of pastry on top can make it look more appetizing!

Overall, we had a wonderful time thanks to Victoria and the manager’s kind and welcome nature! Their food is very reasonably priced and its quality is top tier, with our critiques being quick fixes that can further elevate them easily! BKB offers such creative and delicious selections that I have no doubt they’ll continue to surpass expectations moving forward! Will definitely be back to try their many other selections and I can’t wait to come back to give them the 5th star I know they’re capable of easily getting! Please continue to do your best and become one of the best French restaurant in all of Brooklyn that I know for sure BKB has the potential of being!

Thank you Tori and Clauss(?) for the wonderful and memorable experience! Please give BKB a try, I promise you won’t regret it!

Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

We accidentally found this French Restaurant steps away from an event at Akwaaba Mansion in Brooklyn. It didn’t open until 4pm, but the staff graciously allowed us to come in around 3:45pm & have a drink until they opened.

Ambience was serene and cozy, the waitress, friendly, personable, and attentive. My chickpea/beet/eggplant salad with sauté shrimp was excellent. My daughter’s burger and fries in the brioche bun with swiss cheese was juicy and tasty. Cost was moderately priced. What a delightful find!

I was so excited when I learned that this Brasserie was opening, and they did not disappoint. The space is beautiful and I dined at the bar on both visits. The bartender Emilio is wonderful and in addition to serving up some delicious drinks, he made some solid food recommendations off the menu. The Moules Frites Dijonnaise and Tarte Flambée Classic, so good. Halfway through my meal I saw the roast chicken arrive for someone near me and I had to return to try it. This is the best roast chicken in Brooklyn, definitely come for this and don’t forget to get a side of green beans too. Thank you for adding this absolute gem to our neighborhood, can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner with my partner here. We were a fan of Mama Fox, the restaurant that was here before, and it still had a similar, but enhanced ambiance! The food and drinks were incredible! I definitely recommend the tiramisu! The service was great, but almost too attentive. Maybe it was a slower night but I felt like someone came by our table maybe 20 times. But it was well meaning and still very kind. A bit pricey but it feels like you get what you pay for. Highly recommend!

Such a great find – can’t tell you what I loved more, the food or the vibes. I was with a big group and we ordered a good portion of menu and shared all the dishes. (Also, great set up for group dinners with the long bench and comfortable seats.) Everything was amazing but the stand outs were the bitterballen, sweet fresh oysters, frites (must get the sauces), chicken wings, tarte flambee (both classic and veg were incredible – veg had sweet deeply roasted peppers which melted in your mouth) AND all the entrees were incredible – we got reclette on the burger (strong cheese) which was life changing. My only critique is that I wished the mussels were served in a shallower dish so I can get to the incredible broth easier 🙂 Also, they have a great selection of Belgian beers which the group enjoyed but I stuck to white and rose wine which were perfectly chilled and crisp. We were there for over 3 hours and the service was great – so attentive and we never felt rushed – the closest to a European dining experience you’ll get on this side of the Atlantic. As the sun set, the vibes turned from elevated cafe to sexy disco with jazzy music and warm lighting. Will definitely be returning – looking forward to trying out the brunch and watching some soccer!

I loved our dinner experience at BKB! From the moment you walk in, the vibe was friendly and comforting. We had a reservation and were promptly seated at our table. Our server was so nice and friendly. She made sure to inquire on any allergies or restrictions and offered recommendations based on what we were feeling. Our table shared everything. We started off with the Taste of BKB that offered 3 of their starters to share – delicious! The smoked trout and cheese croquettes were amazing and the roasted chickpeas were a fun crunchy snack. Then we ordered the Normande mussels that came with fries, Pappardelle Mushroom Ragu, and Bourguignon sliders. We couldn’t stop eating until it was all gone! The fries were perfectly crispy, the mussels were fresh and we had bread to dip into the broth after. The ragu and sliders were gone in a heartbeat! We finished with the daily sorbet – mine was raspberry and I devoured it. We each had drinks, mine was a mocktail and I wish I could drink it every day! Couldn’t recommend this place enough for its great drinks, food, and vibes!

Brooklyn Brasserie is an absolute gem. The food is phenomenal, there truly isn’t a bad thing on the menu. The dishes are so well made and the drinks and wine list complement them very well. The owner Klaus is so kind and welcoming, making rounds to tables and getting to know his guests. The service, food, and atmosphere are fantastic. Make this your next neighborhood go-to.
