They also have the absolute BEST hot chocolate I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I had a great time! ❤️
To see the cats it is a separate expense but not pricey at all. All the cats come from the humane society and on Wednesday, if not every week then bi-weekly, Mac Tabby has their adoption day. Almost 2,000 cats have been adopted in less than a year with Mac Tabby’s help. The environment for the cats is so much more relaxing than the humane society and I’m glad this exists for the cats. Maybe one day we could have more animal cafes for people to enjoy but also adopt more local animals.
This is a must stop if you are walking around downtown and want to relax for a few. And if you love cats, well, what are you waiting for? I will be coming back for sure.
We went there this week for my friend’s birthday and unfortunately, we had a very uncomfortable experience. The lady in charge immediately met our party with passive aggression. She was being very rude to my husband when we were ordering, telling him to wait because she wasn’t ready for the next item, and then she forgot to give me my part of the order. I had to remind her before we left which didn’t go over well either.
Then, in the cat room, she kept coming into the room to “correct” my husband and his friend on how they were interacting with the cats. She accused them of going into a “cat only area” and said they were breaking the rules, and then came back right after to accuse my friend’s husband of cornering the cats and making them angry (when in reality, two of the cats were fighting near us and it had NOTHING to do with us).
Overall, only we were being HIGHLY monitored during our hour there when the other 7 people in the room were completely left of their own accord.
The lady might have just been that type of person, but for us to travel 45 minutes and spend $50 to come here for a good experience for a birthday was extremely disappointing. The cats were sweet, the drinks were good, but the service and atmosphere was completely uncalled for and ruined our experience here.
I never leave reviews, but I just wanted to share what happened because all four of us left extremely upset and uncomfortable. She didn’t trust us at all and we gave her absolutely no reason to feel that way. It started as soon as we entered the cafe. Passive aggressive behavior from the lady in charge was unexpected.
