Pretty decent little bar and grill. I’m going to start with the downside, for those that don’t want to read the whole review. It’s not a huge deal, but it would be preferable if the kitchen had some volume control over their radio. Nothing against trying to get through your work day listening to something you want to, but loud rap music coming from the kitchen over the top of the in house 80’s music just doesn’t mix well. Regardless of which music you want to play or hear, the kitchen music should never (regardless of place/location) be heard out in the dining area. Especially if they have other music playing in the dining area. Ruins the ambiance, and shows poor on the side of the staff to allow this to happen. Then you have to wonder if certain things are allowed, will others be allowed. It’s a very simple fix. Alert the kitchen staff that if their music can be heard in the dining area, then there will be no kitchen music. Anyhow, on to the rest. Service was good. They were not that busy, so that probably helped, as the wait staff were able to check on us constantly. Food came out in very reasonable time. Neither sandwich was out of this world, but we’re still very respectable. Onion rings were a bit undercooked on the burger, and simply lacked some flavor, and the sauce on the chicken sandwich wasn’t a favorite either. We would both likely choose a different option next time, as we certainly didn’t find “our favorites”, but, the service and food was decent enough to be very willing to try it again sometime. Place has potential for us, to be a good place to experiment with different things to try. However, we’re also not interested in listening to kitchen and dining music both, so some of this will be determined on what happens our next visit.

I really wanted to love this restaurant more, we ordered the spicy cheese curds for an appetizer, and were told they were no longer available. We went with the portabella mushroom fries, which were amazing. We then ordered the Chef’s special ribeye and a 12 ounce ribeye, but then were told the baked potato, loaded mashed potatoes, and rice were out, ended up with salad, garlic mashed potatoes with one dinner and sweet potato fries and mac and cheese with another. A few minutes later the server came back and said the Chef’s special ribeye was out, so we ordered another 12 ounce ribeye. Our steaks were good flavor, but very different sizes, mine was a little undercooked on one side and my garlic mashed potatoes were obviously in a warmer for awhile, because they were crunchy on the edges, the salad, mac and cheese, and sweet potato fries were ok. The service was fine and server was nice.

Was a wonderful experience. First time for our family of 14.Mandy was our server she was awesome.Friendly,timely, food was great. It was so nice to have servers like it use to be. Servers are always friendly, even during busy times. I never feel rushed. Love the drink specials…they are always unique. Despite rising food costs, I can always come and have an amazing meal in a cozy atmosphere at an affordable price.

If you haven’t tried this place your missing out! By far the best prime rib I’ve ever had! Not only was it cooked to perfection but the service was incredible! Jordan and Tiller gave excellent customer service, they both went above and beyond!!! We had lunch and dinner in the same day because the food was so on point! The prime rib dip was the best I’ve had in 10 years! Not only do you get to stay at the awesome Carrollton inn, you have an amazing steakhouse right at your footsteps when you are a guest in the hotel! Thank you for making us feel right at home and showing my family an unforgettable vacation!

Service was fantastic. Waitress was obviously very experienced.

The sweet potato fries are amazing.
Only lose a star due to the lettuce in our salads beginning to brown. Hopefully that changes tonight as I think we will be going back again.

We tried the steak burger with a salad and the lunch chicken strips with the green beans. The burger is GREAT! I had it with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pickles, and hot sauce. The chicken strips are also excellent, just the right seasonings and batter. Good sides and great service. Very attentive server, polite and friendly. We went back and both tried steaks and the steaks were terrific. Very thick and tender, cooked a perfect medium rare just like we prefer. Looking forward to going again soon. Great every time.

I am a chef, My son is a chef and my brother is a chef, so I can tell you that the food is outstanding! For those of you who live in Carroll, Iowa, you have an opportunity to experience great dining at a very reasonable price.

Always a favorite. Stopped for lunch after conducting business in the area. Had a ribeye steak off the lunch menu. Price was very reasonable. Very good cut of meat (8 oz.) and the green beans with bacon and pearl onions is a personal favorite. Sadly, this location will be closing soon. Not sure if they found a new location yet? Last day is 1/31/23.
