The mac and cheese stuffed hot fried quail was, cheesy, and rich — packed with toppings that made it even better. The shared plates we ordered Deviled eggs and Pimento Cheese Ball. It was the perfect comfort food combo. Every bite was warm, satisfying, and full of flavor.
Definitely a meal I would order again!
The atmosphere here is next level! Their service team were exceptional. Its worth a second try to me. I think in the evening next time for the fried green tomatoes and mac-n-cheese stuffed quail. And most certainly another berry and blue cheese salad.
Aside from that issue, the food and ambiance were decent. Make a reservation so the host isn’t speechless when u arrive without one.
From the first bite of the rich, comforting chicken and dumplings to the unforgettable “Nana” pudding, every dish feels like Grandma’s Sunday supper—if Grandma had a little swagger. Chef Cally brings bold attitude to familiar flavors, elevating comfort food without losing its heart.
The black pepper clam chowda is an absolute must-try—hands down some of the best soup I’ve ever had. The fried chicken comes out piping hot, impossibly juicy, and full of flavor, while the pork chops are as satisfying and smooth as front-porch sweet tea on a summer evening.
If you’re craving a Southern classic with personality, Lorena is a can’t-miss spot right in the heart of OKC.
My wife and I ate here for lunch today. I got a pretty good BLT, and she ate some fried catfish and mac & cheese with cheez-itz on top. Very creative, this would be very popular in Portland Oregon, unfortunately, here I can drive down to Sulphur and get my cousin Eli to catch me a catfish in the creek behind his house and make me the same meal for free.
Once again, the food was good, the service was excellent, the price was outrageous (in a bad way).
ended up booking a reservation online through open table, the only option available for seating was “outdoor”, so when i arrived i expected outdoor seating. the host began taking me to an indoor table, when i clarified that open table states outdoor only, he was very snappy, and turned his tablet around to show me that i did not “note” that i wanted outdoor on the reservation. this was not a huge deal, but i think staff should not be passive aggressive to guests.
mike took care of us. despite the unsanitary issues that occurred, he was accommodating, and helpful,
(when he was able to be at our table).
we ordered two lorena breakfasts, pancakes, and a steak and eggs. it took a very long time for us to both order, and get our food. when the food arrived, after starting to eat, there were noted to be THREE 2 inch long scraggly hairs found in our food. hair found on 3 different dishes….we reported this to mike, he offered to remedy the situation, and asked us how we would like to do that. my friend who was obviously very uncomfortable with the situation (because the hair on her plate was cooked into her eggs), asked for a new plate, along with the pancakes. the other person said she was okay with keeping her plate.
after some time, a different server brought out the new food (which was prepared completely different, with hot sauce* spread all over the top, and a huge pile micro greens), the same gentlemen who was at the host stand(who i’m now assuming is the manager), came by and apologized for the hairs, clearly stated that “hair/beard nets are worn by all staff”, and that he was yet again sorry. mike did come by after quite sometime, and apologize as well.
the problem is that the only issue was not just with the hairs in 3/4 dishes…. the biscuits were also incredibly dry, all eggs that were ordered over easy, had whites that were completely uncooked, and the steak that was ordered medium, had zero pink. the pancakes tasted like bisquick, and were pretty much burnt.
when receiving the check, i would have at least expected one item to be taken off, but instead only two of the plates were discounted, with about $3-4 taken off of each…after THREE human hairs were found in the food (on 3 different plates)…
this experience was horrible. we will not be returning, and unfortunately no one in the party recommends this restaurant.
