Horrible! What happened to this place? If you decide to go here, bring your own lunch to eat while you wait for the one employee to make your sandwich. I hadn’t been in this store for about 6 months. Stopped in on a Saturday at 1pm. There were 6 people ahead of me waiting on their food. There was 1 employee doing everything. I waited 35 minutes for my sub. The new ownership stripped all of the eclectic Cleveland music memorabilia off the walls and painted them a sterile white. No music was playing – just people waiting in deafening silence for their food. They really eliminated all the character that made Dave’s unique. They have changed the bread – the light crusty Italian roll has been replaced with a dense doughy loaf. The sandwich was 75% bread and hardly any meat! Unfortunately I wont be going back when there are so many other choices in the area for a great sub. The new owners should be ashamed of this place.

Not the same Dave’s Cosmic Subs. They use a different bread now, altered the Dave’s Sauce recipe, no longer give a pickle spear and put on very little toppings. Price was also $2 more than their menu stated. Employee said “oh, they must have just never changed it.” Didn’t offer to price correct to whats being advertised. Its a shame.

ATTN NEW OWNER. What did you do? You changed the bread! The bread is what made the sandwich. What was a delicious, tasty, baked Italian bread that’s crunchy on the outside, has now been replaced by a weird tasting, oversized, dense hoagie bun that is not toasted. This affects the whole taste of the sandwich and it’s not good! I’ve been coming to Dave’s for over 20 years and sad to say I don’t think I’ll be back. Shame on the new owner! Don’t you know not to mess with a good thing! Dave spent too many years perfecting his subs and you just ruined it.

Crystal the general manager is absolutely awful. Had the store closed yesterday with no signs that it would be closed then today try to call and make an order and she was rude on the phone hung up on me multiple times do not go to this location. I would highly recommend anywhere else but here. Will reach out to corporate because I’m pretty sure she’s the reason why no one wants to work there. Lets be clear I got there at 5:50 pm on 11.10.25 and the doors were shut and still were shut at 6:30 after I went to Boss chicken and left. Thank you boss chicken and beer for saving us since this establishment cant honor hours or quality customer service.

Daves Cosmic Subs is a local North Ohio sandwich chain. All spots have a groovy 60s rock and roll vibe to them. There’s usually little seating, meant more for a grab and go. That being said, this particular one has a few places to sit down in eat. Also in a great location with other quick eats in the area. Not all DCS are in college areas but this one is. Young student vibe here on Front street. If you never been before, the menu is extensive but there’s something for everyone, can’t go wrong with the Original.

Ordered yesterday and our sandwiches weren’t toasted, the crunchy bread is my favorite part. Very skimpy on the ingredients the sandwiches were pretty empty. Barely any lettuce and was like one 1/4 of a tomato on the whole thing. Friend said every time he orders from this location it’s like that. Love the Lakewood and Ohio city locations.

I will likely never return. My order was supposed to be ready at a certain time and it took 30 more minutes than it should have. There was only one person working. Absolutely ridiculous that it should take an HOUR to make 2 sandwiches. If you are going to have one person working and wait times will double, let the patrons know or don’t even be open. They just lost a customer. I’ll go to subway next time.

We ordered Door Dash from the Berea location & our order came missing a sandwich (bag was stapled so it was not taken by the driver). I called the store immediately during normal business hours & got an answering machine; I left my name, issue, and return call back number. No one ever returned my call to address the issue. Will likely never order here again unless I feel like throwing $15-20 away on a sandwich I won’t receive.
