Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks right? Unfortunately the answer to this is no. Not all Starbucks are created equal and this location does a good job at holding the bar where I’m sure Howard Schultz & Brian Niccol would want it. First the ambiance. I always wondered how they’d make this building work as it once was a bank. I’m happy to report that their store designer did a great job with the layout. There’s plenty of seating room with or without a table and they even have window bar seating (non alcoholic type). The music is of course their usual SB cafe flavor and remains as background music. According to my hubby, the bathrooms are clean and per usual need a code to access. There is plenty of parking and although they are located at the end of a shopping center parking lot, access into and from the lot is not bad as long as you go to where the traffic lights are. We ordered our “coffee,” two marshmallow dream bars and two cranberry bliss bars. Everything was as it should be taste wise. They were out of certain things and made sure to let us know and gave us options. The crew was very nice and accommodating. Overall, this is definitely one of the Starbucks we frequent as it is a good location especially when in the Alderwood area and you just need a pick me up before heading back onto I-5.

This is by far the best Starbucks I have ever been to. It is now the only location I come to, even when it means driving out of my way. The staff here are consistently kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. Even when they are busy, they take the time to answer questions and make you feel valued. That alone makes this location worth the extra drive. No other Starbucks compares in terms of friendliness and genuine care for their customers.
While waiting for my drink, a barista named Kate made a point to engage in meaningful, intentional conversation with me and checked in on everyone who was waiting. Despite being clearly busy and juggling multiple orders, she still took the time to connect, acknowledge customers, and make us feel truly seen and valued. What may seem like a small gesture meant so much. In today’s world, it is rare to feel genuinely noticed as a customer, and Kate created that experience effortlessly. Her kindness and presence made my visit feel personal rather than transactional, and it left a lasting impression. She even brought orders out to customers dinning in as well as bringing waters to people who needed them. That level of thoughtful, sincere customer service is something we need more of, and it truly set this location apart for me. And on top of that, the drinks are always excellent.
I was honestly surprised by the negative reviews I saw before writing this one. They simply do not reflect the reality of this store. The team works incredibly hard to make every customer feel taken care of. Expecting drinks to be made in just a few minutes during busiest hours is unrealistic. You can clearly see that every barista behind the counter is constantly working and doing their very best to help each customer as quickly and efficiently as possible. People need to be realistic and appreciative of the effort being put in.
I would absolutely give this Starbucks a 10/10 and recommend it to anyone and everyone. They truly are the best. (For comparison, I stopped going to the Starbucks on 196th because of frequent mistakes and poor service—this location was always the one that made things right, which is why I now come here exclusively.)

This store employees have the worst customer service behavior and work ethic. I came to the store so many times and this happened to me a couple times in the past year. The employees seemed to ignore customer offenly, acting like the customer wasn’t existing, especially to Asian people. Every time, I have to stand there and wait for 10 to 15 minutes before they start looking at me and asking that I been helped when 4-5 employees standing behind the counter. This is unacceptable service Starbucks is a big company and should do better than this…

Went through the drive through about 30 minutes ago and ordered two grande iced two pump vanilla lattes and both were so burnt and gross. Had to throw away almost 14 dollars in coffee. This isn’t the first time. Either. I live in the area but if I want a good coffee, I drive to the Starbucks on 196th. They’re so consistent over there. This place sucks almost every time. Nasty coffee here! Get it together!

Service at this location is genuinely excellent, and the staff deserve full credit for that.
That said, whoever designed this drive-thru layout must’ve done it blindfolded in rush-hour traffic. The entrance and exit setup is so convoluted it feels like solving a maze just to get a latte, and because it spills right out at the light on an already jam-packed road, getting back out is almost impossible when you’re in a hurry.
Closing the Fred Meyer store on 164th and Alderwood Mall Pkwy, which had a far more sensible in-and-out flow, and leaving this chaos open is a decision that defies basic logic. It’s hard not to wonder what on earth upper management is thinking when they greenlight designs and closures like this, then act surprised as more customers quietly drift to local coffee shops that are easier to access, less corporate, and frankly more deserving of people’s money.

I order on the mobile app and the door dash guy only grabbed my sandwich and not my drinks, and he was very rude to me. I tried to contact the people in the app and no such luck since I waited quite sometime and no one picked up. I was at work and not able to leave, so I called the physical starbucks location, I worked with Ashlynn and Melton. They were wonderful, helped me with remaking the drinks for my boss and I. My boss went and grabbed the hot and freshly made new drinks which were fabulous and to my surprise they remade my sandwich as well, which I gave to my boss since I now had two! Thank you again to Ashlynn and Melton you both are amazing, and very kind and I appreciate you!!

I was very friendly and clear when ordering my drink. I was surprised when he handed me one that was the opposite of how I ordered. Plus it tastes absolutely terrible. Also kind of odd that he didn’t offer to give me the incorrect one as they obviously can’t resell it, so it just gets wasted. I could have given the incorrect drink to a coworker. A little offensive that they would rather dump it out than offer it as a gift for the incorrect order.

I’m not one to typically complain, but this is absolutely uncalled for. Ordered the tomato mozzarella pesto panini and got one piece of spinach, barely a slice of mozzarella and maybe a spoonful of pesto in the center all while waiting 20 plus minutes in line at the drive thru.

Very slow drive through. Always consistently backed up. Takes me about 15min to get through each time.
**EDIT I was told today by the manager that I cannot order more than 6 drinks when going through the drive through. Is this a new policy?

This location consistently makes horrible drinks and is a pain to get into regardless of the current construction on Alderwood. I ordered here today after about a year because the location down the street was shut down even though every drink was made well and was easier to get in & out of. Ridiculous decision keeping this store open. Never going back.
