First time trying this place today, 10/10.
I had the supreme burrito with asada, forgot to add avocado but thats my fault.
Quick service, flavor was on, their hot salsa had the right heat and flavorful.
I’ll be back, to explore the menu a little more.

As a Mexican, this is definitely the best authentic Mexican food in Chico. The people here are actually Spanish speaking and make an amazing burrito. I had a great time speaking with the owner and getting to know him a little. Thank you for the amazing food!

The food truck El Grullense, on E.Park Ave and MLK Jr., has been a hold out for awhile for me. I’ve always avoided it in favor of other trucks…here’s why. I ordered 2 Barbacoa tacos ($1.75 ea), 3 asada tacos ($1.50 ea), and 3 chicken tacos ($1.50 ea)…on a Tuesday no less!! This is where I say, “Quantity does NOT equal Quality”. Yes, the tacos were filled, but the Barbacoa were smaller than usual, and the beef and chicken were spilling into each other, PLUS smothered in green sauce…a usual sign the meat is over-cooked. The meat was basic, under-flavored, and not enough cilantro and onions. With such an extensive menu, you have to get the basics down perfect before moving to more choices. Plus, the tacos cost more than most establishments in town, even ON “Taco Tuesday”. I know they have regulars who swear by this restaurant, but alas…I can’t. Oh, and again…why radishes? They aren’t even marinated. 3 stars… NO more!

I got a supreme burrito with carnitas.
The flavors were right, but the textures were wrong. The carnitas were tough (not to be mistaken for crispy). It was almost as if all of the fat had been completely rendered out. The rice was undercooked on the inside to the point where each grain had a bit of bite to it. To reiterate, the flavors were great.
Maybe just an off-day, but I’ll give them another shot some other time.

Best taco truck in Chico! My buddy and I go here often for a quick lunch while working. Service is friendly, prices are EXTREMELY reasonable, production is fast, and the food is amazing! Their burritos are delish and you’ve gotta try their grilled cheese tacos! I can eat here and get food for my family better and cheaper than any fast food in Chico!

I stopped there for a quick dinner and wasn’t too impressed. The beans and rice both had hardly any flavor. I got 2 veggie tacos and veggie nachos. The guacamole was good and the salsa was pretty tasty… but overall it was fairly bland food. My husband got a burrito and he wasn’t overly impressed either. He had the same complaints about the beans and rice.
