We ate at el Vergel and it was amazing! My husband very much enjoyed his chile relleno. I loved my soup and my enchiladas! The cheese dip and the guacamole (it wasn’t chunky and I prefer it that way) tasted great! Everything was made fresh and tasted fresh and delicious! We will definitely come again! Everything was kept clean, well taken care of and nicely decorated

I ordered take out…use to get chips and salsa with your order..no more with take out pretty disappointing considering they charge for take out orders also (like a take out fee).
I ordered the chili reno which was very mushy not tasty, also ordered steak fajitas which were watery like not seasoned at all the tomatoes in it were very mushy like old tomatoes. Now I looked at a menu while waiting for the order because they have no online menu. The guy come over and handed me my receipt, and said something about me looking at the prices…excuse me, first I already paid for my food, second you don’t have a menu online so I was seeing what all is available, third you don’t make remarks like that instead maybe say do you have questions for can I help you with something else. I don’t plan to come back because I can go to better Mexican or even cook better at home.
Oh when I got there, only 2 other people sitting there and the tables were dirty.

It is the only place in Clio to go out to eat. The food is sub-average. Too salty for my liking. It took a very long time for the food and they are not prepared for the busy times. A good manager could turn that place around and be very profitable.
My recent visit was horrible… August 2025. There was almost no meat on the fajitas and they actually charged $8 for chips and hot sauce..! They even argued. Now I know why my family has stopped going there. I’ll never go back

It’s alright if you’re hungry and don’t want to cook. I’d say it’s slightly better than Taco Bell. After reading other reviews, I expected authentic Mexican food. It’s not authentic Mexican food. I cook better and more authentic Mexican food at home. The staff is friendly and attentive and the service was good.

We we’re staying at the Blue Springs state park and ate here 3 out of 4 days. The street it’s on looks a bit run down but the food is AMAZING! The service is good too. Do yourself a favor and eat here!

If you eat the salsa from this extremely over-priced, low-quality establishment…you are eating recycled, double-dipped in all day long left over on the table salsa. The Covid crisis probably would have ended two years ago if these people weren’t too lazy to make fresh salsa. SO DANG NASTY
