have been coming here for a long time . food is generally good but ordering on the website not only has a $1 convenience charge it automatically adds a 15% or so tip. girl at front speaks English fine until there is a problem

May 2025 ,, added Szechuan shrimp new photo uploaded ,, delish with lots of large shrimp .. .and had past order of char siu w/ broccoli and pork r fried rice .. ..
Feb 2025 – latest order is chicken and broccoli,, and if you look at my photo ,, it is loaded with protein .. for the price you pay you get a lot more protein ,, compared to other takeout places.,., . i am becoming a regular patron
May 2024 – google maps hides MagicWok,, you see it only at street level .. i have past this area often, and never knew it was here ..
i usually order just noodles for chinese takeout lunch .. so first time here was roastpork loMein ,, it was too much soy sauce but it had nice chunks of pork and it was a quart size paper container ,, and not the reduced plastic tray size that is not a quart .. i will likely try other items here but will ask to go lite on the sauce..

Ordered chicken fingers… got greasey deep fried chicken. No duck sauce at all. Called them & was told I could come & get some duck sauce. I got 5 meals. Will not use them again

The newer ownership has really dropped the food quality. The food used to be good enough to overlook some cleanliness issues, but now, there’s really nothing worth going back for. There is better everything at other local places.

I’m torn. It’s great food but dirty. I see so many gross habits. The order-placing negotiations are silly. When you call, try to pay credit card, you’ll be asked to pay cash. You’ll be asked to order soup. “No noodles?” You’ll get up-sold at every turn, but the food is good and not the same frozen stuff that you’re getting at all these other places. They’re chopping up chicken from whole not cooking up frozen food. I see some of the reviews mention incorrect orders. I’ve ordered 30+ times and that’s never been a problem. At times I’ve had egg rolls that seem a few days old and oversaturated with oil and maybe 1 or 2 times with chicken that was overcooked but in general, really good food. Just wish their cleanliness was better.

It’s a damn shame what’s happened to this place. Magic wok used to be THE spot. Wonton soup flavorless. Tastes like nothing. The sauce for the fried wontons tastes way too sour, it might even be expired. Beef sticks are tendon ridden chewy flavorless garbage. Sell the joint back to Johnny cause what’s it become is an absolute travesty

I’ve been ordering from Magic Wok for the last 15 years, and have always loved to food. Ordered tonight and everything was just off. After looking over the recent reviews it looks like there are new owners. The sweet and sour chicken was actually pork (could happen to anyone), the other food was just mediocre at best. The pork fried rice was bland. The boneless ribs were a little dry. We will not be returning again. Sorry, but you shouldn’t have messed with a good thing. The service was prompt and friendly and I wish them luck in the future.
