While visiting family in Baton Rouge from California. We were were out on a date night and decided to try this Jamaican restaurant. We were greeted by a very sweet and lively lady by the name of Catherine who also was the owner. I ordered the oxtail dinner with yams, macaroni & cheese with a mango & apple salad and the soursop drink. My husband ordered the curry shrimp with mac & cheese with yams with the passion fruit drink. Let me tell you she did not disappoint…the ambiance had nice Raggae music and the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant gave us a warm at home feeling. Thank you for having us Catherine and for your positive and beautiful energy…we can’t wait to come back !!!

A quick stop was planned when I found this place on Google, but the owner was so sweet and friendly I decided to stay and have my meal at the restaurant. This place is unique and definitely for those with an adventurous palate; it is definitely different. It was so delicious, and the owner was so helpful when I was picking what to get. I ended up getting the chicken curry with rice/peas and steamed cabbage. I also got the jerk chicken wings! Everything was so good, definitely lots of flavor, not afraid of seasoning. If you like blackened food, this is what the wings taste similar to.

The Izland is amazing! They are super friendly and so kind. She helped my fiancé carry out our food to our car. Stayed and talked with our two children for a few minutes. We ended up spending 65$ with a tip for a family of four. The cabbage vegetable loaf and so was the savory plantain (got extra Jerk sauce and used it to dip) is awesome. The juices we handmade and so good! We got the soursop and passionfruit drinks; 100% recommend the soursop! The apple mango salad was delicious. I recommend anyone who likes good food with spice, and a friendly atmosphere to come check this place out! Worth it.

When I heard that this restaurant had ox tails, I had to go review it. But babyyyyyyyyyyy. They exceeded my expectations. From the service to the atmosphere, everything was a 20 out of 10. The owner Matt everything even better by actually coming out and introducing herself. The oxtails were my favorite. This was my first time having Rasta Pasta. I love it. I will definitely be back on Thanksgiving for the festivities.

I stopped in to grab food today and had the pleasure of being helped by Ms. Jenny. I was dining alone and she immediately made me feel welcomed and taken care of. Her kindness and attention to detail really stood out. What impressed me the most was her dedication and work ethic. Even while managing everything going on in the restaurant, she remained patient, warm, and professional the entire time. It’s clear she truly cares about the people she’s serving.
Great service like that makes a place memorable. Ms. Jenny is the kind of person who makes customers want to come back. I hope management knows what a special employee they have in her.
Thank you Ms.Jenny ❤️

First off, Kathy is a beautiful and amazing owner and host. Makes you feel at home as soon as you come through the door. The service is impeccable, like being fed by your mom or auntie lol ❤️ Now, the FOOD… omg.. DELICIOUS, flavorful, and authentic Jamaican dishes with huge portions!! Will have you leaning back in your chair thinking about a good nap- that is, if you’re not too busy bobbing your head to the reggae rhythm lol! The Izland is a can’t miss spot, my new go-to.

My family stopped in I got the jerk chicken with cabbage on the side. My wife had the oxtails with rice and peas and plantains, and my daughters shared some beef chicken and vegetable patties. My jerk chicken was really well seasoned with just the right amount of spice. My wife’s oxtail was really good too. It was a very big portion and the prices were excellent, but what was really great was Cathy really made us feel at home. She even broke out a karaoke set my wife and her sang a very memorable experience. Anytime we in the area we going back to see our friend ❤️
