Reviews
Tried this dump for the first (and last) time today. The pizza arrived looking like it had stage fright: pale, floppy, and sweating grease. I politely asked if they could cook it a bit more, and they looked at me like I asked them to donate a kidney. Apparently, finishing the job is not part of the Ripieno’s experience.
Woodfired? Where? There was more char on me from standing in the sun outside than on this sad, soggy circle of despair. It was so undercooked I’m pretty sure it was still rising. We left it on the counter like a warning for future patrons. The food here is utterly disgusting.
Also, the service? Imagine being ghosted in person. Rude, dismissive, and somehow smug about serving what I can only describe as pizza-shaped slime. And don’t get me started on the prices—this place charges gourmet rates for something that tastes (and looks) like it was made in a malfunctioning Easy-Bake Oven.
In summary: if you like raw dough, passive-aggressive service, and paying top dollar to throw up in your mouth at the mere sight of their pizza, Ripieno’s is your Mecca. Otherwise, save your money, your taste buds, and your dignity.
Anyone with even one functional taste bud should avoid this horror show.
Whole pizzas are similar. Seem to be about twice the size of a normal pizza. Course if you don’t have a family of 4 or large group of friends there is no real incentive to get this much food.
Pizza is very thin crust, almost cracker like so make sure that’s your preference.
Sub wise I don’t see this working out. $12 cheesesteak at the beach is $22 here. I can’t imagine any 11” sub being worth this so you may never get a review on that from me.
It’s a shame the major discussion on this place will be about the prices not the food. My guess is they won’t make it without adjustments. So try it now while you can.
1. Both Ripieno’s and Jojo’s had no customers at the time, but I said might as well try it for the heck of it.
2. The roof of the building or vents were leaking so they had trash cans collecting the water at those areas. Not the greatest since it’s newly renovated…
3. Service was okay, lady at the front was nice taking the orders, the guy who boxed up the freshly made pizza in the back seemed nice as well.
4. The pizza itself was not worth $9 maybe in Ocean City on the Beach, but down the street in Gaithersburg inside a BK where Giuseppe’s offers two pieces of pizza and a soda for six bucks and makes the price feel kind of steep for just a huge slice of Standard Pizza nothing special. Taste was Bland and there was not enough sauce on the pizza so it was basically like you were just eating bread with cheese and pepperoni I saw very little sauce. Fun to try but I probably wouldn’t go back.
There are better more high quality options for the same price and the only factor that this place has going for it is the size. Which once you go to an actual Quality Pizza Place like Armands or Paisano’s you will not come back to this place but it is convenient! If you’re looking for something that will help you to get over a hangover this might be the ticket but if you’re looking for actual good pizza you might want to skip this one.
This Restaurant Group really needs to evaluate things that work in different areas as the same thing that works in Ocean City Maryland is not going to be the same thing that works in Gaithersburg when there are so many other options they should have chosen something like the Bojangles that they initially had planned to go with and not this place. Simply because we do not have a Bojangles here in this area and it’s actually good and they could have chosen two other options that would have been easier than the two that they picked simply because they worked in Ocean City. It is a costly decision that will probably follow them for quite a while if it stays open.
The food was delicious and the service was A1. I had pizza, wings, and an Italian sub. The quality of All of the food was great. The place very clean and well maintained. I will definitely be back next time im in the area.
