Most incredible French Onion Soup I have EVER tasted. And I order French onion soup every time I’m at a new place that serves it. There is no recipe or establishment that can compare with the soup I had at the Beechwood Inn. It was a mission of mine to find the best French onion soup and after 25 years of searching, I can honestly say mission complete.
My son had the Big Wood burger and couldn’t say enough positive things about it.
We grabbed a cherry cheesecake desserts to go. It was also fabulous and you could tell it was homemade with its thick, buttery, graham cracker crust.
Loved the homestyle rustic ambience of both the dining and bar area. The murals/wood carvings are quite unique and add to the country home cooking feel.
Service was quick and friendly.
The total meal was quite inexpensive.
The only thing that disappointed me had nothing to do with the Beechwood inn, but the fact that none of the local Erie visitor guides even mentioned the existence of this place. Shame on them for not listing this hidden gem of a local business.

This has been my first time here. I heard the food was good. And yes,it was really good, and well prepared, cooked to perfection really.
The only thing I did not like was the atmosphere. The dining room itself wasn’t too bad. It was the saloon part next door that was very loud. The doors to that part were left open and all you could hear was loud talking and seemed to be drunk patrons. They could of closed the doors for a more pleasant dining experience. The noise echoed throughout the dining room and it was very uncomfortable while we ate our meal.

Good food and beverages. Right on route 8. Goulash special was really tasty and one order was practically enough for 2. Seat yourself. Nice place try it

Stopped in for lunch today and had an amazing beef tips and noodles plate. The waitress, Krystyn was awesome, going above and beyond to help us put together the meal! Even though they were busy, the cook even took a moment to come thank us! Tons of beverages to choose from and an excellent menu of choices! I will 100% be back for lunch/dinner again and look forward to trying another great item they offer! Thank you Beechwood Inn!

It’s been a few years since we last visited the Beechwood. I remember the food being very good and was excited to have lunch there today with my son. Unfortunately, my “extra crispy” wings were undercooked, my fresh cut fries were barely cooked (had to take them home to cook them more so that they were edible), and my burger was served on a bun so dry that it crumbled before I could take a bite (ended up eating my burger without the bun). I know they’ve changed owners since my last visit, could that explain the change in quality? Or was today an off-day?
Our server was very nice, and in fairness to him we did not mention any of these short-comings to him.

Edit: prices went up a lot. Chicken sandwich went up by $2 and wings went up as well and they were already way overpriced. Plus they charge $2.99 for celery and carrots on top of $15 for ten wings. Prob won’t be back.
Original review: Overall, excellent food, nice small relaxed atmosphere. The wings were tasty and big $14 for 10 so pricey. But good. Chicken sandwich was $8.99. Also large and the fresh cut fries were awesome! Got a 32 oz Yuenling for $6.50. Server Becca was super polite and excellent!! Only negative was they only gave us $5 off our Kiwanis card which said a BOGO dinner up to $8 value. Usually those include burgers and sandwiches as “dinners” or just give $8 off total. So disappointing there. But other than that loved the food and atmosphere and country decor and the back area had great tunes with mellow easy listening rock from Jackson Browne to Segar to some Paul Simon. Really enjoyable dinner with my lady. Will be back. Oh and WING flavors were awesome! The Shaun was soo good.

Tonight we decided to make the 45 minute drive to the Beechwood. We arrived to find a not so full parking lot. Upon entering, there were no people waiting for a table. We were greeted with a waitress wearing grey cat eye glasses who was far from pleasant. She rudely informed us that we’d be looking at a 45 minute wait and stormed off to the bar. I kindly responded with “thats no problem, we will wait in the bar area” . She responded as if I was a nuisance to her and shrugged her shoulders. Never asked for a name or number. We felt very unwelcome, and decided to take our business elsewhere.

Well, it’s another great place to get wings in Erie! Haven’t been here before, so first time reviewer. Hard working waitstaff, good food, prices are fair for the portions. Probably going back to try another wing flavor in the future.

Very good food. Large group of adults at our table.
By the look of the eating area we were not the only large group.
Staff did a good job keeping up with everything. Food was very good.
Went back to meet someone for lunch.
Service was excellent and the food was also great.
Seems to be very family friendly too.
