Good atmosphere. The day we had dinner there, there was a DJ and the music was great. I also liked the service. We ate sushi and other japanese dishes. They were Ok, but not at par compared to other high quality japanese restaurants (fish was fine and fresh, but it was noticeably not prepared by a skilled sushiman)

High energetic place (music in the background) with wonderful service and excellent food. We had the special that came with so much food. Pork wonton, spicy tuna sushi, special fried rice and beef lo mein. someone had general Tao’s chicken.

Nice quality. I would give it a solid 4 out of 5.
The place is tucked in the outskirt of the main Tropicana casino floor. One has to walk the whole floor to get here.
Not super popular though because it’s pretty expensive ($10 miso soup anyone???)

Came here for dinner Friday night—the restaurant decor is cute, loved the ambiance! Service was great, our server Roberto was awesome.

Food was pretty good! For appetizers, we enjoyed the Chili Wontons, Gyoza, Miso Soup and Butabara Yakator. For main dish, the Galbi Ribs were delicious—well flavored, huge portion and the fries were delicious too! Sushi rolls were okay, we did not like the Ossu Roll much—the guacamole added on top made the overall taste weird. The Sushi & Sashimi platter was good. We were celebrating my birthday and they brought out ice cream mochi with a candle to celebrate, which was so sweet!

Loved coming here for my boyfriends birthday dinner, when I mentioned it was his birthday and if we could get a little candle on the dessert, the gave him a free dessert very well decorated for the occasion. The service was great and the food was amazing, I always recommend this when someone is going to Atlantic City, definitely a gem in Tropicana. (You can find it at the end of the casino). Really good experience.

I would like to share my experience at Ossu Asian Tavern, a truly pleasant place thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by its staff. I want to highlight Debra, the bartender, who is an exceptional employee—always smiling, friendly, attentive, and providing outstanding service. Her professionalism and positive attitude made our visit even more enjoyable. I also want to recognize Kathleen, the supervisor, for her leadership and the positive environment she helps maintain. Thanks to both of them, the restaurant fully deserves its 5 stars.

However, I feel it’s important to mention an unfortunate moment we witnessed. The hostess at the entrance, Banexa, did not act professionally. She spoke to bartender Debra in an inappropriate tone right in front of us, which was uncomfortable and completely out of line with the excellent service offered by the rest of the team.

Special places like Ossu Asian Tavern can be overshadowed by unprofessional behavior, especially when it contrasts with the outstanding work of employees like Debra and Kathleen. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the restaurant has an exceptional team and a wonderful atmosphere worth preserving.

Still, I want to express my sincere appreciation for Debra and Kathleen, who made our experience memorable and truly worth recommending.

Overpriced! 4 slices of sushi for $33? It was fresh. The 4.7 star review brought me in the door. Sat at the very long bar. Atmosphere was seedy in my opinion. Also ordered the pork belly yakatori. Soon fatty and was not crispy. Sent it back for more grilling. 3 Small skewers. I left there hungry. Find some place else to spend your winnings. Oh, you lost in the casino? Definitely skip Ossu, you’ll definitely feel like your on a loosing streak.

Below average food for a steep price. A few un-fresh nigiris for $50. Wonton soup came out cold and tasted sour (?)

The waiters and waitresses here are friendly and attentive.

The bathroom door won’t lock.

None of the food is authentic or tasty. It is in a casino after all?

It’s impossible to reach their phone line. I kept being redirected multiple times for more than 30 mins and yet couldn’t reach their phone line for a reservation modification.

My family and I are big sushi people. We came here to try something new and to celebrate Mother’s Day. The decor of this restaurant is really fun and feels like you’re out on a Japanese street. The cocktail menu is interesting and has something for everyone. I’m honestly slightly disappointed in the options for sushi. I like a lot of selection because I usually get a ton of different things; however what they do have is really tasty. We enjoyed sharing the small plates they have as well. The server was very knowledge and made our celebration something to remember. At the time they were also partnering with Boogie Nights so definitely ask about that. The attire is casual, so dress for boogie nights but eat here before!!

The drinks were so tasty we took some to go. Our sushi was so good, and our waiter was very friendly. Will definitely be back next time we’re in town.
