We tried Jolly Rogers BBQ for the first time today and we were blown away by the food and the hospitality shown to us. We ordered pulled pork plates and they were fantastic. The sweet ladies working gave us some of their pimento cheese and jalapeño poppers to try – both were amazing. We placed a to-go order of chicken stew, jalapeño poppers and banana pudding on the way out. Had to try the chicken stew when we got home and it is the best I’ve ever tasted. We will definitely be frequenting this gem! Thank you, Jolly Rogers BBQ, for the exceptional hospitality!

We’ve passed this placed on our travels and keep saying we need to come back and try it. We are sooo glad we finally did. Jolly Roger’s did not disappoint. Best Smoked BBQ in SC so far, in my opinion. Not a big place, a shack but it’s full of character and flavor. Coming up the ramp to the door you can smell the Smokey goodness waiting for you inside. Order at the counter, but check the board because they do run out of items. And we came late so they were out of some sides and ribs. But that was ok. Ordered the brisket sandwich, beans, BBQ slaw. I thought the beans were ok, standard flavor, nothing special. But, I added their BBQ sauce to them and that upped the flavor tremendously. The BBQ slaw’s flavor is great. Slaw was ice cold and crisp. Cabbage is a small dice cut but not too small. Good kick to it and not overwhelmed with BBQ sauce. Now the star. The brisket sandwich served on a good sized bun. Stacked well on the portion. The bark was incredible, smoke, smoke, smoke. Best I’ve had in SC so far. It was nice and tender as well as flavorful. Adding their BBQ sauce, vinegar base, only upped their game. We will be back for sure. Since it was our first time we were gifted their banana pudding. They must have plenty of regulars because they knew we were there for the first time. She said she didn’t recognize us and doesn’t forget a face. The staff were so friendly. It was a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend Jolly Rogers. ‍☠️ Go get the smoke.

My husband and I had lunch here today and it was without a doubt the best BBQ we’ve had in a while. Brisket and pulled pork were so tender, flavorful and moist. Slaw and beans were good as well. We tried all the sauces and really liked the mustard and the vinegar sauce. Portions were very generous. Will definitely be back. Staff was so friendly and took great care of us. Being our first time we got banana pudding as well. Thanks so much!

A great place for a Saturday adventure!! We started out by parking where we SHOULD NOT have…. a very nice, personal, smiling lady ( later discovered that she was owner) came out & ask if we would please move to another parking place? Sure no problem, tho because a new jeep and still learning all the bells & whistles, we had a little problem getting the jeep into drive. She was like “ don’t worry, leave it there… come in have lunch & we will worry about this afterwards”. We finally discovered the problem ( totally our fault) & moved into the suggested parking place. Upon entering, we were welcomed/met by very friendly, helpful, happy smiling people. ( all laughing about the jeep episode, along with us). We decided on the “special of the day” sandwich , chips & drink. Pulled pork was cooked/smoked perfectly, a choice of 3 different sauces, ( I tired all 3, red sauce was my fav) The smiling owner ( sorry I don’t have her name) gave us a serving of banana pudding because it was our 1 visit. Also during this time a man was playing guitar & singing softly in the corner of dinning room. We bought some of their chicken stew “ to go” which I’m sure we will enjoy later this weekend. TOTALLY glad we stopped & will be back, tho without the parking drama lol lol lol

Very local feel and everyone knows everyone if they don’t you still fell welcome. Rib tips were outstanding and very fair price. Everything is made in house and most on the smokers. Ribs and banana pudding were on point also. Highly recommend traveling for the food, service, atmosphere and welcoming staff!
Oh, the chicken stew is the best I have had anywhere.

Jolly Rogers Woodfired BBQ in Pacolet, SC, is a hidden gem that brings authentic, wood-fired Southern barbecue to the Upstate. Located at 3999 Pacolet Hwy, this family-run spot is the passion project of husband-and-wife team Josh and Jennifer Rogers. Josh, a former firefighter, honed his barbecue skills during firehouse competitions before turning his hobby into a full-time culinary venture. I had the chicken salad sandwich and was absolutely delicious. Will be back. Thank you for the amazing service and fantastic hospitality. ❤️❤️❤️

We had a good experience at Jolly Rogers Woodfired BBQ in Pacolet. The food was good, and the service was on point. The portions were enough to satisfy our hunger pains. They have only been open a few weeks, but they really have made some good improvements to the building and are fine tuning their menu. The ♿ramp to the main entrance in really nice. It was worth the ride to give them a try, we will be back.

I spent over $50 on a half rack of ribs and a pint of brisket. The brisket was some of the driest and toughest I’ve ever had. Minimal flavor. The ribs that my daughter had had the same issue, dry, minimal flavor. . Hopefully today was just an off day, but unfortunately, this was not the visit. I was expecting based on the reviews.

Absolutely love Jolly Rogers. All of the people are amazingly considerate and friendly, the location is good, an expanded parking lot is being created, and especially the food!! We eat their food regularly, especially liking the ribs with a blueberry sauce. I highly recommend Jolly!
