If you’re in Ventura and looking for a spot that’s easy, low-key, and consistently good, Lucky Sushi & Ramen is it.
Tucked right off California Street, it’s super convenient with good parking and easy to pop in and out without the chaos. It’s relaxed, comfortable, and never feels rushed.
I ordered one of their specialty rolls and it was fresh, well-balanced, and plated nicely. The fish tasted clean and high quality. You can tell they care about what they’re serving. The ramen broth had great depth of flavor without being overly salty — just really solid comfort food.
The staff is cool, welcoming, and on top of everything. Good service, good food, easy vibe — it checks all the boxes.
If you’re cruising through Ventura and want solid sushi without the hassle, definitely stop by.

Great food, excelent service at not so good location with average interior. Baby octopus was spicy and delicious. So was tuna skin salad. But in addition with a lot af vegs. Miso Ramen was mild and full of tasty mushrooms, seaweeds, shrimps, and just perfectly cooked egg. The spicy Ramen was even better. The extra salmon for four dollars was a good choice. All the dishes for less than 80. A discount if you pay cash. Cash is king! Lucky Sushi & Ramen rocks!

We really enjoyed our meal here. The food was very good. The presentation was also very good. The restaurant was clean and the service great. Our server was attentive and polite. Will definitely be back on our next visit to the area. The Fire Dragon roll is highly recommended as well as the yellowtail jalapeños roll.

OMG this was some of the best sushi that I’ve had in a long time. Evening tasted so fresh. The service was amazing. We ordered our food to go and the house make sure we had everything we needed in the bag. My only complaint is that I had this while on vacation and I wish their was one closer to me.

I was here a week ago and ordered the miso ramen and liked it and came back tonight to order the same. When the bowl arrived, it clearly looked and smelled like the tonkotsu ramen with heavy garlic smell. I immediately let the server know that. She replied that it was the miso ramen and the recipe changed and kept arguing that it was miso ramen she brought me.
I was sitting at the table closest to the door. The servers told multiple waiting customers that it will take them 10 minutes to clear tables. Multiple people decided to leave although there were unoccupied tables except they needed to be cleared.
I would have given 4 stars out of 5 last week, but today’s experience ruined the restaurant for me. I am not sure I would return.

The restaurant just opened. It is a sister restaurant to Lucky Thai. Had a delicious salmon sensation roll with a cucumber salad. The owner gave me a complimentary barracuda nigeri style. It was very fresh. The service was excellent.
