My name is BigDaveIsFat and I am in search of the best Meatball Sub made by a greasy spoon in Reading, Pa. Up next is Ray’s. The sandwich was darn near perfection. It came in a container as opposed to be wrapped in foil. This is always an advantage because no one likes to pick cheese that’s stuck on foil. As you can tell from the pictures this wasn’t a poorly made sandwich. The amount of sauce was great and the sauce is damn good. In fact, I don’t particularly care for sauce because most are NASTY, but the sauce at Ray’s is excellent. So good that for the first time in more than 30 years. I will order a cheesesteak and get sauce on it. I sure hope the same recipe is used each day because I will be back. The roll wasn’t as toasted as I would like. It still had a little bend to it and I prefer it to be toasted, toasted. Anyway, there was a good amount of cheese and it was neatly kept inside the roll. Upon taking my first bite, I noticed that the meatballs were of the smaller size. That was a good thing because you get meatball in every bite. However, the meatballs were tasteless. They weren’t seasoned like the others were and although the sauce was great, not having a seasoned meatball to go with it, brought the quality of this sub down a bit. Overall, I think Ray’s meatball sub is a good one and should be eaten by many. My name BigDaveIsFat and my name says it all. “Get your grub on!”

Stopped here to get an order while visiting my mom. Amazing food and staff. We couldn’t believe the subs we got for under 10 and 12 bucks. I got the chicken cheese steak, wife got the cheese steak special and my mom got an Italian sub. They were so big there were 3 portions. Per sub!
While waiting we saw the free slices come out and I couldn’t help myself but get a few loose slices of pepperoni, and regular. They brought out a buffalo pie after and that looked amazing too.
I rarely write reviews but this place was worth it. I will return here for certain next time I’m in town.
I strongly suggest everyone come by and try it.

Nasty attitude and the place does not feel welcoming at all. Not even a smile, I felt like I wasn’t paying for my food. To add to the list the pizza was horrible not flavor, lack of seasoning, not crust. First time and last one. Maybe they should smile a little be and have a more welcoming environment. Good luck!

Highly DISAPPOINTED! In WHAT Italian restaurant’s world does ANTI PASTA and GREEK SALAD consist of a MOUNTAIN of shredded LETTUCE with a FEW fn toppings?! That’s not what’s listed on their menu!!! If I wanted basic lettuce with a few olives, 3 small half slices of tomatoes, 2 slices of cucumbers and a few onions (‘Greek salad’) and rolled up DELI ham with onions on ANOTHER MOUNTAIN of lettuce I would have just ordered a basic ceaser salad instead!!!! NEVER AGAIN!I wish I could upload my pics because this is horrible. I’ll have to trash this and order dinner elsewhere.

Absolutely the Best California cheese burger I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked and made. Asked for crispy fries, and they were spot on. Keep up the great job. 5 stars isn’t enough!! Should be a 10
12-23-22 Had the Ray’s Burger and Italian Stromboli. As always, the food is amazing. Truly the best place in town. Won’t go anywhere else for take-out.

First time reviewing delivery order. Ordered a cheesesteak with no sauce and mozzarella cheese, pierogies, corn nuggets and 2 20oz bottles of Ginger Ale. When I started eating the cheesesteak they put sauce on the sandwich and white American cheese instead.

Called in an order today (12/12/24) for the same meal. Chicken Caesar wrap. The guy I spoke to said 30 mins. I got there about 25 mins after I had called and figured I could just wait for it. It was already done. Should have been my first indication. For $12 I should not be picking brown lettuce out of my food. The fries were overcooked and dried out. And there was no Caesar dressing to be found in the wrap. The employee that was there seemed to be working by himself, and he was coughing up a storm while I was there as well.
By the time I even got to eat it, it was cold. Even tho I only work a block away.
This is convenient because it’s so close to work, but I think today will by my last visit. I’ve given more than enough chances to get this right.
Food is good, prices are a little high but so is everywhere else. I just wish the cooks could make up their minds about what goes in their chicken caesar wrap. One time it has onions and tomatoes. Good people, great food, good service. Was always rooting for a place like this to open in Reading city with New York Style sliced slices. Cheese Sauce & Dough was quality. I like it a little extra crisp so the guys made sure to cook it just right. Best wishes and much success. GB
