I’m pretty much a regular here, and my experience–I’ve only done take outs–has been positive so far. The staff are welcoming, the sandwich is prepared carefully, and it always tastes good. Prices are obviously not exclusive to this store, but they are reasonable nonetheless, and you can get some good discounts if you have an account. Worth checking out.

I would give service 0 stars if possible. Yes, I was the AH a little for trying to get a sandwich shortly before close. But read that again, BEFORE CLOSE. Just got off work and was craving a sandwich. I walked in and said myself “if you would like I can go to the other store since you are so close to closing.” Instead of saying “I’m sorry please go there” or something along the lines of that, he said “yeah. I’m closing. Go there.” Like dude.. you have 10 mins still for one. But whatever. Def could’ve been much nicer. (Side note I work in a restaurant. It’s very unprofessional to turn someone away because of closing.) I would’ve been happy if he was nice but since he was rude here’s this review.

Ms. Kay went out of her way to make my Subway visit absolutely miserable with her disgustingly rude attitude. I showed her nothing but respect, and in return, she tossed my finished sandwich on the counter like I was beneath her. If she hates her job that much, she should quit instead of taking it out on customers. The customer service was so shockingly bad I felt compelled to warn others—avoid this location unless you enjoy being treated like garbage.

Very disappointed my sandwich was burnt never seen anyone make a subway the way they made ours ! They put all my condiments on my meal then put it in the oven so my tomato’s were hot and bread burnt she touched my money then the next customers food right after! Never been to this location and won’t come back

The service at this Subway has gone downhill drastically the last year, it used to be (in my opinion) the best subway in town. The lunch workers never seem happy and are rude to customers. Spirit never washes his hands after using the register, and goes right back to making food. He was very rude when I mentioned to him that it’s a health and safety issue after handling money. The red head girl tried to charge me for double cheese even though i didnt get double cheese, when I asked why, she said it’s because you asked for extra veggies”, I said they can’t do that and I’d be calling corporate, she immediately removed it. I miss the old lunch workers. Very disappointed in their service these days.

Food tastes fine but before wrapping up our sandwiches one of the female employees making them told me and my boyfriend that she “could get fired” for adding toppings to a sandwich listed on the menu if we didn’t specify we wanted items added after it had been toasted..she was short and rude and normally we don’t have an issue here. Seemed like a dramatic claim for a chain store that does sandwiches to order. I guess we’ll go across town next time instead of having the convenience of the location in our neighborhood.

Service and food are awful!! Waited in line for 10 minutes while one person was helping the person in front of me, while 3 people stood there chatting. Someone came to help only when the one working asked for help. Had to repeat every single ingredient I wanted on the sandwich. It was too much effort apparently, for the worker to even speak. She didn’t ask me if I wanted anything else or even give me my total. Finally get home to eat a sandwich with absolutely 0 flavor and tastes like cardboard. I generally get the same sandwich every time I go to Subway, so know what it should taste like…this is absolute garbage! And that’s where it went. Waste of $10. Will never go to this Subway again! Barf!

Here on October 15 at 12:30 pm. I usually never write reviews, but someone please get this woman a raise! Every other subway in Ames has subpar service or stoned employees who don’t know where they are. This lady knew all the toppings of every sandwich, assembled both of my sandwiches to perfection, wrapped like Christmas, and had me out in 10 minutes. If an owner or manager is reading this, the 2 workers behind the counter on October 15 at 12:30 pm deserve whatever they are being paid and then some! These 2 are really doing the leg work for subways around the world! Keep it up!

On Friday Sept 23rd (earlier today between 1pm -1:30pm), There was a female worker by the name of “Lila” I believe, who finish the last part of my sandwich. My food was made correctly. However she was EXTREMELY rude when asking what condiments I wanted and kept rushing me as if I was purposely holding up the line. Her tone was very passive aggressive. And I didn’t appreciate it considering I was nice to her. When paying for my food I commented on her attitude to her bigger co-worker trying to show empathy naturally assuming she was having a bad day. And she was also dismissive and ignored me while giving me the default “have a nice day line” to get me out of line. Again my food was Ok. But I’m really considering if I’ll ever return there in the future if I’m going to be treated like that. The guy with the beard was Ok. And didn’t give any condescending, rude, mean, dismissive or passive aggressive interaction during our encounter. Just the other two. Hence why I only gave 2 stars instead of one. They’re gonna end up being rude to the wrong person one day if they remain employed. The world is negative enough as is.
