Great dive bar. Fantastic vibe & people. Bartender rocked it! There was a dj who was phenomenal — would go back just for him!

We’ve been coming here for 3 years in the summer. We know Donna, Draves, and Aaron the best. They all rock! We came in past our normal time on a Thursday nite…Aaron was working . That kid has it going on! He’s personable, hard working and not bad in the eyes! Lol! Always makes us feel welcome! He should get a kudos for effort and personality! Everyone loves him, including us!

If you like hole-in-the wall townie bars this is your place. Busse’s has the feel of a rural wisconsin bar. Their food is limited to frozen pizza & bagged snacks, but they encourage you to order from the fried chicken place next door (if it’s open).

It is a very quaint little locals watering hole. The staff and environment are friendly. You can also get Zippy Lube chicken there. The sandwich is amazing.

Outstanding dive bar. Folks are friendly, and you can get food from zippy lube next door delivered. A baraboo salad, which is an old style with a pickle, is the way to go.

Always great service with a smile. The crowd is an eclectic blend where anyone and everyone feels comfortable and has a good time. The jukebox has a much nicer variety compared other places that have so much blocked from use. By far my favorite little big bar in Madison.

Busse’s is a total gem with a really fun mash-up of people, including Donna, who could prolly outdrink most. It has this nice laid back vibe, like everyone has the same chill agenda. Cocktails are robusto, and frozen mugs to serve select tap beers? Busse’s isn’t going to be hosting pool tourneys any time soon – space is tight between the wall and table in one area, but this only adds to the charm of this place. They hosted a cribbage tournament (April maybe?) I regret not participating in, next time. I highly recommend you go to Busse’s, love it, but then don’t tell anyone else so it doesn’t get too crowded.

What can I say it’s a historical landmark great drinks great prices close to home.
Has pool table dart board the limited on parking but you can park in the vacant auto shop next to it. Small but cozy. Good spot to hang out during games as well. They serve pizza too.

Go now before the hipster takeover! Hopefully the upcoming changes will be great, but currently this is a real neighborhood bar with one of the best bartenders in Wisconsin. Get one of Donna’s old fashioneds while she is still behind the bar.

When you start to lament the disappearance of intimate and comfortable neighborhood taverns…stop cryin and go to Busse’s instead.

I dont know if it’s the building, the bartender Donna or both but this place is imbued with a magic you can only get from years of good vibes.

If you’re not into the whole mysticism thing, that’s cool. I’d recommend Busse’s for the Old Fashions alone.
