Our book club had a wonderful evening at Taste!
From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious—beautifully prepared and served promptly. Chef Jason clearly knows his craft!
We also enjoyed a great conversation with co-owner Dean, who was warm, down-to-earth, and entertaining. Taste truly delivered on making a lasting impression, and we can confidently say we’ll be back soon.

Just ok, but not ok. Food was ehh. Order a few choices just to get a feel for the menu. Couldn’t really grasp what’s the theme….burger joint, Chinese joint, soul food? Paid full price + 20% gratuity. Asked for nothing off, so legit critique here. Lemon pepper chicken salad need dressing on side. Lettuce was limp. St Paul under seasoned and need better condiments. Burger….ehh! Drove 2 hours to scratch this one offf the list of places to try. Eating out of Styrofoam with plasticware for dine-in experience? Don’t say “date-night” vibe.

I had my birthday brunch at taste on 01/04. There was some miscommunication and hiccups when arriving with my party, but the staff quickly accommodated me and went above and beyond to make it right. I order the fried chicken and French toast biscuits and my food was amazing!! My family also enjoyed their dishes. The food, the staff, and the atmosphere were all great and I can’t wait to return.

This is a new restaurant that I tried and it’s my new favorite place to eat!!! The restaurant is small but very nicely decorated. It’s a good date night place to go.
I tried 2 dishes, and they’re probably the 2 best versions of those dishes I’ve ever eaten! The chicken quesadilla is thee Best!!! It’s super flavorful. The chicken, cheeses, and vegetables are the perfect blend.
This Jerked Earth and Sea Rasta Pasta is the TRUUUUUUTH!!! Steak strips and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The sauce is sooo flavorful and creamy! It’s a little pricey but worth every penny! I highly recommend it.
The only thing that wasn’t the best were the truffle fries that came with the quesadilla. They’re the skinny shoestring fries that had a good taste, but I didn’t eat them while they were hot because I got my order to-go. They were hot when I got them and if I would’ve eaten them while they were fresh and hot they would’ve been great, but they didn’t travel that well. The taste of the other food far outweighed my soft fries.
Support this small business. You’ll love it.

We had a reservation across the street. We were made to wait 30 minutes beyond our reservation time and then sat in a back room all seated at separate spaces. The hostess had been extremely negative during this wait time. Taste’s big red sign caught our eye. In a quick phone call, we learned we were able to head right over. Not a minute wait time and were met at the door with a warm welcome. And the service we received was consistent throughout our time. Warm, welcoming, almost family like. And now, the food: exceptional. Catfish and fried wings were impeccable. Potatoes and eggs were the perfect accompaniment. But the cheese grits. I can tell you, they were not made with water and were flavorful. Cheesy, the grits were more polenta like. Super smooth and just unreal flavor. I can go on and on. But I invite you to try them out for yourself. And the prices make sense!! Not this overpriced and underwhelming stuff I keep seeing in StL. I now have a black owned establishment I can go to over and over again. Because the food is great, the service matches, and the atmosphere is perfect! Than you, chef and owner, for this experience.

I went this evening and tried their birria quesadilla. I ordered at the counter and shortly after my food was brought to my table. I was pleasantly surprised how much meat was in these quesadillas. This entree was about $22 and I feel like I got my money’s worth. The consume was thick and flavorful with lots of green onions.
I am kicking myself for not ordering the gooey butter cake cheesecake by the register it looked so good.
Overall I had a great experience. The service was great and the staff was very attentive. My food came out hot and fresh. Not to mention the interior of this place is appeasing to my eyes, which is always nice.

I visited this Black-owned restaurant on a Saturday evening around 8pm with a group of 15 friends. The food, staff, owner, and chef were all amazing! The food was absolutely delicious — everyone in our group couldn’t stop talking about how good their dishes were.
We had fried rice, chicken wings, quesadillas, lamb chops, salad, a St. Paul sandwich and more, I can’t even remember, but everything was on point!
We all agreed right then that we’re coming back once a month. Can’t wait to go back for a brunch with the ladies!!
