I’ve been a loyal customer since this bakery first opened and have always appreciated the quality of everything they make. My husband particularly enjoyed his friendly conversations with both the previous owner and the current owners.
I was therefore surprised and disappointed when he recently purchased croissants (this was last month) and found them to be extremely hard and stale right from the day of purchase. You could knock them on the counter hard. In the past, I’ve bought four or five at a time and stored them in a bag or container; even after 2–3 days, they remained noticeably softer than these were on the day they were bought.
I understand that every business can have an occasional off day or leftover items from the prior day. However, as regular customers accustomed to receiving fresh-baked goods daily, we expect transparency if products are not baked that morning or not fresh. I am not in the habit of asking about freshness here, as this has never been an issue before.
What was particularly concerning was that when I politely posted a question on the Facebook page inquiring whether the croissants might have been from the previous day, so I could understand and ask the appropriate questions next time, the post was deleted. The question was not rude or confrontational, merely to seek clarification.
I value this bakery and would appreciate any insight into what may have occurred, as well as assurance that customers will be informed in such situations moving forward. Especially after waiting in such long lines to get home and find out you can’t eat it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I discovered this gem last weekend when I was in town for my tax appointment. My tax preparer highly recommended I stop in. They did not disappoint! The owner came out from the back and greeted me, then showed me what they carried. Very lovely woman who is clearly passionate about her products. I wanted to buy everything but settled on the foccacia sampler, chocolate croissants, and the Bavarian cream croissants with chocolate. Everything was outstanding! I couldn’t help myself and made another trip out this weekend to pick up more items to try, including the rustic rye and strawberry cheesecake croissant. The quality is top notch as is the customer service from everyone there. I’ll definitely stopping by regularly to continue sampling more items.

Such an amazing big city bakery in Howell of all places. The bread is fresh and flavorful, the croissants melt in your mouth, the cinnamon rolls are perfectly proportioned with icing and cinnamon. On par or even rivals bakeries in Italy and France. Get there early and be prepared to wait in line. Savor the breads the same day and freeze an extra loaf for later.

Oh Crumbs Bread Company is nothing short of spectacular. Over the past year, this small gem has completely blown up (even more), and for good reason. The owner, Scott, is an absolute artisan when it comes to bread-making. His sourdoughs and croissants are unparalleled, and their recent addition of kruffins (a heavenly croissant-muffin hybrid) has raised the bar yet again. Every single one is a masterpiece—flaky, buttery, and filled with creative seasonal flavors that keep me coming back for more.
Beyond the classics, Oh Crumbs offers an ever-changing variety of specialty breads and products, tailored to the season. Whether it’s a rich, nutty loaf in the fall or a light and zesty creation in the summer, there’s always something new to try. This thoughtful, rotating menu showcases not just Scott’s talent but also his passion for delivering unique, high-quality baked goods.
Despite its small size, Oh Crumbs has an enormous amount of charm and character. The cozy space radiates warmth, and the team is as delightful as their creations. Scott and his wife work side by side, infusing every aspect of the bakery with care and authenticity. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to guide you through the menu or offer recommendations.
A couple of tips for first-timers: Get there early. This place is wildly popular, and for good reason—by early afternoon, most of the goodies are sold out. Ordering ahead is also a smart move if you don’t want to miss out on your favorites.
If you’re still not convinced, check out my photos and videos—they’ll give you a glimpse of the magic happening at Oh Crumbs. Trust me, one visit and you’ll see why this little bakery has become a must-visit destination.

Stopped at Oh Crumbs today. We bought the garlic herb focaccia bread, a sour dough loaf, a few cinnamon rolls, strawberry and chocolate croissants and a French baguette. Everything that I have tried so far has been amazing. Had the strawberry croissant before we left the parking lot….I couldn’t help myself as it looked so good and it totally didn’t disappoint!

Oh Crumbs! is the best! I love the Rustic Rye Sourdough and get a loaf every week for my lunches. Their specialty sweet breads are good too. Quiet jazz/swing music typically playing in the background for a inviting environment. The couple who runs it are just the sweetest too! Simply the best.

Wow! I’ve been dying to try this place and boy am I glad I did! The Rustic Sourdough Rye is the only bread I’ve ever had that is close to the old Burghart’s rye from Livonia. The rosemary focaccia dipped in olive oil with their Tuscan spice blend is INCREDIBLE. I also tried the Brotchen rolls which were crusty and delicious. If you’re looking for high quality, authentic breads reminiscent of Europe, don’t skip this establishment. I’ll definitely be a frequent flier!
