First impressions of Bea’s Fine Foods are that it was very clean and not cramped. When walking inside, the waitress was very nice and friendly when asking about getting us a table. The restaurant offers inside and outside dining. The waiter was very polite and friendly when explaining the menu and asking us for drinks.
My girlfriend is Celiac, so finding restaurants that she would be able to eat at safely is very slim. We were both nervous going to a new place due to cross-contamination but were reassured that there were no cross-contamination issues at this location. The only non-gluten-friendly thing offered at this restaurant is the beer.
To start off, we got the Breads and Spreads with their house-made focaccia. The spreads for the day were Lemon and Garlic hummus spread and the Black-Eyed Pea spread. The appetizer was way better than expected. The bread did not taste like gluten-free. It was so delicious and would be worth getting more to go.
My girlfriend got the BLT Panzanella. The chicken was well seasoned, and the green tomatoes were very good. Eating this meal with the focaccia bread made it all so much better. Definitely recommend getting it.
I got the Polenta & Summer Squash Shakshuka. It was my first time having shakshuka. I liked it a lot. The flavor was very good. I added the CWR Sausage, and the sausage was not dry and it tasted very good. Personally, I do not like salty food, and this meal was seasoned perfectly. I kind of mixed it all together, but it tasted so good together, and I ate this with the bread as well (because it was so good). If you like eggs and polenta, then this will be something you would like.
Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who has celiac or who just eats gluten-free. This is one of the places I will be returning to multiple times to try a lot of the menu.
While we waited, we had a matcha and a cortado — both were fantastic. The coffee was top notch!
The service was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and the pizza was a 10/10, plus we got to share the pizzas since they’re all gluten free! Highly recommend stopping by this gem!
I had the best gluten-free pizza of my life.
Figgy Piggy Pie:
garlic+herb EVOO base, GA Gouda, Pork Belly, preserved Figs, arugula, Carrot+Datil Jam and candied pecans
My husband’s burger was delicious, and one of the best I’ve had as well! Very tender and juicy. The cheesy mashed potatoes were incredible. And the dessert, raspberry cheesecake, gluten-free, absolutely amazing! Very accommodating and kind. Also, my drink… with the house made passionfruit foam. Wow! One of my favorites ever!!!
If we had more time in town, we would have surely gone back for another meal. As vegetarians I felt pretty limited by my options but this was one restaurant, the whole family had ample options. Special shoutout to the Portobello stack and the cornmeal and flax waffles they are our most favorite! This place is all heart.
The ambiance was lovely, especially sitting out front on a mild evening, and the service was warm and attentive. It was wonderful to see the same quality and creativity in the food that we always loved at The Floridian.
They also have a thoughtful wine selection, making it an easy spot to linger and enjoy. Overall, Bea’s delivers that perfect mix of local charm, inventive cuisine, and welcoming service — a great addition to the St. Augustine dining scene.
Thank you to the owners of Bea’s Fine Foods for creating such a place. The food was amazing. Anyone who is skeptic to gluten free food would not even know that the menu was gluten free it they were not told so.
If we lived in the area, Bea’s would definitely be our go to place.
I cannot recommend more.
