Nestled in the Northland of Kansas City, Coi Nguon Origin Coffeehouse pays homage to the Vietnamese coffee tradition. We use honey Robusta beans grown by Vietnamese farmer in Lam Dong for each handcrafted cup, meticulously brewed using a phin filter. Our goal is to echo the essence of Central Vietnam’s vibrant coffee culture. For some we hope our space can bring a sense of nostalgia to a faraway homeland, for others perhaps a new adventure in coffee and culture. Either ways – come share your stories with us and allowed us to share our heritage with you.

I do hope the bakery improves though. The sesame balls have been burnt on one side and extra crunchy each time, and the pastries are a bit dry. Still a great spot for coffee and atmosphere!
They display local Vietnamese artists’ work in the cafe. Please do take a look at their work!
⚠️ They do get a rush of customers, so you will have to be patient. Seating is okay. This place is more of a takeout or quick chat, rather than sit and study cafe.
Note: sometimes they don’t serve a certain drink yet (like the corn milk one) or they run out of the ingredient so you’ll have to opt for something else or try again.
What did we order:
– Vietnamese Latte with oat milk and syrup.
– Salted Midnight Cocoa (Vietnamese hot chocolate topped with salted foam)
Service is kind and they will answer any and all questions you have.
This is worth the drive to the Northland.
Love love love this place! The coffee is strong and tastes like you are in Vietnam. I got the coconut coffee and it is blended. It was great on a warm morning. Also they serve pastries from Sour Rabbit. I have not been there yet but after trying the cheddar, jalapeño, bacon scone I will be going.
I went with a friend who can’t do lactose, and they have coconut condensed milk. The flavor of her traditional coffee was great.
Updating my review: we did come back and the barista (owner maybe?) remembered us and our orders, down to the kind of milk we both liked in our drinks. Origin Coi Nguon is a great coffee shop and a wonderful addition to the Northland.
