I finally got a chance to make it out to this place, the original house from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre film.
What a fun spot! If you love the movie. It’s a real treat. They have all kinds of movie posters and memorabilia (they really good Mondo posters included.)
We had lunch and a couple drinks.
Upstairs they have a great setup with the dead mother, grandfather and animatronic Leatherface.
Really cool to see this house moved from its original location north of Austin and preserved here.

Really cool place if you’re a horror fan! I think they made a good choice to make it a more casual bar and grill type of set up. The beer selection was lacking a bit (was surprised there were no Oktoberfest or anything seasonal) but that’s ok. The food was good, fairly standard but that’s not a bad thing. Service was friendly but overall I just really enjoyed the setting!

My food was very bland. Really no taste to the chicken stripe. They had no chicken wings. The woman that took our order seemed more interested in getting things ready for closing I’m assuming. She was basically sweeping as she was taking our order. We did make reservations in advance. We actually went for my 50th birthday. Kinda bucket list for me and my best friend whom flew in from Washington state. I wanted to buy some trinkets. When I asked the lady who took our order she told me to go to the front. Everything was turned off up front. Lights n everything. When I went back to let her know she was still sweeping the bar floor and acted like she didn’t care to help. Another lady that works there, ( red shirt, curly hair) actually came from behind the bar and took me back to the front to purchase some keep sakes.
Crazy to think that the original person taking our order would not want to make extra sales or be attentive enough to our table being that it was a birthday and we did tell her some of us flew in for this. When I asked about the history of the establishment she acted as if she was annoyed and made a sparky comment. (NO…NO ONE WAS KILLED HERE)!
I will say the upstairs was kind of cool.
Hopefully in the future she will make people feel more comfortable.

As others have mentioned, this place is fantastic for a quick visit and take in the memorabilia from the movie. Absolutely beautiful place and the staff is very friendly. The food, however, is mediocre at best.

What a cool experience. So glad we found this place. Delicious food, great vibe, awesome atmosphere. Even though the house was closed technically, we were still able to walk through. I would go back in a heartbeat. Can’t imagine what the nightlife is like here. Stage with lots of sitting area.
