First time trying them out a couple of weeks ago. Got Oxtails, Rice and Peas, and Mac and cheese. I will say I loved every bit of food. Did not last a day amd a half in the fridge. Would highly recommend. I am apmost considering getting the Jerk chicken coming in again knowing how good those oxtails were.

This is the piece of Caribbean you need here in Alaska, the food is always fresh, has amazing flavor and the name itself is inviting. The Oxtail is soft, has great taste and leaves you wanting more. The yellow rice is the perfect combination and its cooked to perfection. The sweet Side Plantain are just the perfect sweetness to add to this already amazing dish. The side of mac n cheese is delightful, with a dash of spice which transports you right to Jamaica! The music while you sit (or wait for your food) is the perfect invitation, the place is clean, sanitied and ready for you to enjoy your meal. To add the icing on top, Wayne is kind, has amazing energy and will take care of you!

I’m sorry but this is not it… this is by far no means authentic Jamaican food and even if it’s cooked by a Jamaican I’m sorry but this is not a proper representation of Jamaican cuisine.. the plantains that were supposed to be ripe were dry and hard practically inedible. I got 5 plates: oxtail, 2 brown stew chicken, curry chicken and all was a mediocre joke. The brown stew and curry chicken was shredded (not how it’s supposed to be done) and taste less. The rice and peas and plain white rice was an even bigger joke. I also got the jerk chicken that was subpar compared to others I have had. Oh I also got some Pattie’s and those barely passed but was doughy (thank god for the hint of pepper in it) this was a complete waste. The store really needs to improve cooking and anyone who knows Caribbean cuisine will agree. Because if this is what they are serving and having people think is really Jamaican food it is a shame for them and the culture.

This is the best food in town without a doubt. The flavor and authenticity is unmatched. If the wait for the food wasn’t 1.5/2 hrs wait every time this place would be a 5 stars! It makes sense since they’re open 3-8 that it gets busy but it’s out of hand sometimes lol

What a Surprising find in Alaska. We went here off a recommendation from a Chena Springs employee. So glad he did & that we went. Spoke with the proprietor for a bit after he asked about why we were in Alaska. We asked the same & he gave his story. He made fresh cabbage for us after telling us how he does everything himself. Great young man & even better food. Of all the Jamaican spots I’ve been to, including Jamaica, his food is pretty good. He has a unique twist on his seasoning which made the jerk superb. This is definitely a Premier Eating Spot for Fairbanks and should be Highly Recommend. When we go back, this will be our 1st stop to eat

The food is legit best, outside of Jamaica, that I’ve ever tasted. The eat-in counter is small, but my daughter and I happily ate in and enjoyed the food with the Jamaican music playing, which was on point! Excellent service!

Everything was DELICIOUS! and these guys work so hard and are so kind. The ox tail was much favorite and all of the sides including a heap of plantains! Fed 5 of us (with w days of left overs) for just over $100. Great deal for fairbanks.

Delicious! I got the chicken curry with side of baked mac and cheese. Also picked up the patty and festival. All were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The chicken was amazing! I wish the mac had more of a spicy kick but it’s one of the better mac and cheese I have had in town.
Definitely recommend great vybes and food – they are pricey but worth it!
