Best Ramen in Vienna, VA – Japomen
Reviews
My husband often gets the ramen and udon and both have a rich, flavorful broth that he really enjoys. The noodles have a great texture and the portions are generous.
What makes Japomen even better is that it’s super affordable without compromising on quality. You get fresh and well-executed Japanese food that tastes like it should cost more than it does.
The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great spot whether you’re craving sushi or a comforting bowl of noodles. Japomen is a reliable go-to for solid Japanese food in Vienna.
Chicken katsu with curry was decent, probably the only good thing on the menu.
Sashimi was ok as well, tasted like any store bought sashimi.
Spicy chicken ramen was basically indomie or buldok with some hot water and coconut milk.
Wagyu ramen was so bad we could not even swallow it. Tasted like a cold nasty dirty broth. So bad.
They subbed it for a spicy veggie ramen. Also very basic and just tasted like instant ramen.
Upon entering the restaurant, it initially felt like a franchise eatery as we placed our order through kiosks and waited for our food. However, we were pleasantly surprised when our food was brought to our table, and the owner checked to see if we needed anything else.
We initially thought the restaurant only served ramen, but we were delighted to discover that it offers a wide variety of Japanese cuisine. They had a special promotion where ordering a ramen also came with a hand roll. The Japomen Ramen had a delightful mix of flavors with a spicy kick from the yuzu jalapeno. The Yakisoba had perfect textures with stir-fried udon noodles and vegetables. The sashimi in Sushi Combo A was incredibly fresh and of premium quality, and both the Caterpillar and Volcano rolls were delicious, with all the ingredients harmoniously combined.
We are thrilled to have a high-quality Japanese restaurant like this in our neighborhood and look forward to returning to try more of their offerings.
1. Food isn’t good, charsu over cooked and no flavor, broth and noodles just ok. Why is ramen egg fully cooked ?
2. Sushi rolls over sauced and nigiri just ok the price doesn’t match the quality. The wasabi isn’t bad tho
Bathroom and kitchen don’t look maintained or cleaned well and that reflects on the food and management .
I feel as if this is a commuter restaurant because it’s next to the metro but the price is high for the quality of food and the amount of time it took for the food to come out was slow
