What started as a growing interest in sushi has turned into a genuine love, all thanks to Japomen! This is my go-to spot for sushi in the DMV area and it never disappoints. Consistently delicious and hands down the best comfort food.

I went here with my sisters and found the place empty. I was confused as to why, as I later found the food to be great! I had ordered the halal chicken ramen and added spice. It was warm, yummy and the chicken was seasoned amazingly. I ordered the edamame, and for 6.50 I expected a little more than what I got. I enjoyed the self serve water dispenser. I am giving a 4 – star review because my sister had ordered separately (she got the same thing) and her broth was very bland. As someone who does not have halal options near them, this was great!

Overall, I’d give this place 5.5/10. I wasn’t expecting much tbh The food is just mid tasting. Ramen broth was decent, but the pork slices were chewy (overcooked) and could’ve used much more flavor. And we waited 45 min for our food…(yes, I timed it) I just wanted to try it to get it over with cause I knew it’d be average, so now I can check it off my list and never go back lol ✅️ Japomen? Food was ok but not very special. We had sushi, ramen, and chicken. I would say it is average. Price is reasonable.

So good!!! And so many different things to choose from, all very fresh and flavorful tasting fish. Beef Broth/pho was so delicious. The hand rolls are great and everything is plated and presented so beautifully. Everyone working there was super nice and helpful, lots of big booth seating and very calm atmosphere, definitely worth a trip.

Always fresh and flavorful! Today we had the spicy seafood ramen and sushi combo set, and everything was delicious. A perfect comfort meal on a rainy day!

I’ve been to Japomen in Vienna a few times now and it’s consistently a great experience. I usually stick to the sushi and it’s always fresh and well-prepared. One of the highlights for me is the hand roll set which I highly recommend. It comes with spicy salmon, soft shell crab, and spicy toro with truffle. The spicy toro with truffle is easily the standout. It’s rich, flavorful, and just indulgent enough without being too heavy.

My husband often gets the ramen and udon and both have a rich, flavorful broth that he really enjoys. The noodles have a great texture and the portions are generous.

What makes Japomen even better is that it’s super affordable without compromising on quality. You get fresh and well-executed Japanese food that tastes like it should cost more than it does.

The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great spot whether you’re craving sushi or a comforting bowl of noodles. Japomen is a reliable go-to for solid Japanese food in Vienna.

We were waiting for Urban hot pot and it was over an hour wait. We were starved so decided to go here.

Chicken katsu with curry was decent, probably the only good thing on the menu.
Sashimi was ok as well, tasted like any store bought sashimi.

Spicy chicken ramen was basically indomie or buldok with some hot water and coconut milk.
Wagyu ramen was so bad we could not even swallow it. Tasted like a cold nasty dirty broth. So bad.

They subbed it for a spicy veggie ramen. Also very basic and just tasted like instant ramen.

We are thrilled to have a new Japanese restaurant in our area, especially since there was previously only one option. We decided to try it and were impressed by its high-quality food, ambiance, and excellent service.

Upon entering the restaurant, it initially felt like a franchise eatery as we placed our order through kiosks and waited for our food. However, we were pleasantly surprised when our food was brought to our table, and the owner checked to see if we needed anything else.

We initially thought the restaurant only served ramen, but we were delighted to discover that it offers a wide variety of Japanese cuisine. They had a special promotion where ordering a ramen also came with a hand roll. The Japomen Ramen had a delightful mix of flavors with a spicy kick from the yuzu jalapeno. The Yakisoba had perfect textures with stir-fried udon noodles and vegetables. The sashimi in Sushi Combo A was incredibly fresh and of premium quality, and both the Caterpillar and Volcano rolls were delicious, with all the ingredients harmoniously combined.

We are thrilled to have a high-quality Japanese restaurant like this in our neighborhood and look forward to returning to try more of their offerings.

Not sure why the rating is so high? Are the reviews even genuine.
1. Food isn’t good, charsu over cooked and no flavor, broth and noodles just ok. Why is ramen egg fully cooked ?
2. Sushi rolls over sauced and nigiri just ok the price doesn’t match the quality. The wasabi isn’t bad tho

Bathroom and kitchen don’t look maintained or cleaned well and that reflects on the food and management .

I feel as if this is a commuter restaurant because it’s next to the metro but the price is high for the quality of food and the amount of time it took for the food to come out was slow
