Probably the best wine store in the entirety of Ithaca. The owner is extremely friendly, has amazing recommendations, and always manages to cater to not only what flavors I am craving but also what vibes I am feeling. 15/10 would go again.

Great service. And great liquids. And being in the Finger Lakes of course they have great ciders.

Great store to deal with. They ship me a good bit of wine. Always friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I’ve learned a lot about wine just speaking to them on the phone. The shop itself has an interesting selection. Where to buy wine in Ithaca

good selection of wines but unable to show on their website their correct inventories. Ordering from them online can be unreliable. I have ordered twice with them: once in 2023 and once this time. Both times they did not have the bottles they had sold me.

What a great place to have in an area where wine (outside of the flx) is so greatly ignored or miss-represented. I am about to take a course on Japanese sake and was able to connect with Antonio, he was not only very accommodating with special ordering me bottles but also when I asked for a wine recommendation, he took me down the rows pointing out some favorites of his and what made them stand out. I’ve already tried one and am excited to open the others.
If everyone who works here is half as helpful and pleasant as Antonio then this is where you want to shop. Will you find your “go to” bottle of “large brand name” wine? Definitely not. But will you be able to branch out into similar styles but with way higher quality, 100% yes.
Shop here if you want knowledgeable staff, great options and are tired of drinking the same stuff that you’ve grown used to.
P.S. They also play some great music, it was some pretty solid punk music when I walked in. Any wine store that doesn’t default to drowsy crooner tunes is already a front runner in my book.

We have to santize our hands once we enter the place. It’s amazing that they are taking the precautions.

I went here twice because of how convenient to my hotel it was. They have an interesting (though not necessarily great) wine selection. both times I went the SINGLE person working (two different people, but each time only one person working) was so over-involved in showing off their “knowledge” of wine to the customer ahead of myself and others just waiting to pay that it took a wildly long time to just pay and go. My suggestion would be to either have more than one employee on at a time or have that one employee cognizant that he is the only one working and behave accordingly.

This is my go to wine shop. Its worth the drive to come here for the impressive selection of natural wines and helpful staff who know a lot about the products they sell and how they drink. After a few repeat trips with tasting notes we now can get a consistently awesome selection to bring home every visit. If you like natural wines this is the place to go.

My wife and I needed something good to drink while roadtripping through Upstate NY (at the end of each day’s drive, not during) and we stumbled upon The Cellar d’Or in Ithaca. We were helped by Antonio. Let me be clear: This guy wines. He was extraordinarily helpful in identifying wines we’d like, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. His descriptions of each wine made us want to buy them all. We went in intending to buy one bottle and ended up buying six. We’ve been drinking the bottles he recommended, and each one has been fantastic. If you’re in Ithaca, definitely give The Cellar d’Or a try. Thanks, Antonio!
