We arrived 2pm on Saturday and several tables were taken inside and out, but it was a gorgeous sunny day, so…. Some folks reading, some chatting. We waited for one person in line before us, and service was then speedy for our food to come out to our table. Seat and clean up after yourself. I had a chicken salad croissant from their ‘grab & go’ case and a fruit smoothie, one friend ordered a vegan wrap and smoothie, and the other ordered a fresh sandwich from their menu. When it arrived, the size, presentation and taste was impressive. She brought home half of it. We were not disappointed. Prices are a bit pricey, yes, but in my mind worth it as a treat from my usual mundane lunch choices. The dessert case was luscious to consider. It would be a great place to get a friend a gorgeous and memorable birthday dessert last minute…to rave about. For beverages, they offer flavored carbonated waters, craft sodas, juices, all clearly with healthy intentions. There were some chips for sale. Also, there were some wines and gift items are for sale, but clearly the point is the food. Helpfully adjacent to the Shelburne Museum. I will go again, and save room for dessert.

The mini pancakes were excellent. Cornbeef hash was a little on sweet side. Eggs overdone. Would definitely return to try other items on the menu. Cappuccinos were enjoyed!

After hearing many friends RAVE about this place, we finally decided to head over and get a bite to eat for breakfast. It’s peak foliage season around here and we were fearing the crowds around Shelburne would be thick, but we were pleasantly surprised that all we saw were locals! Can’t wait to come back and try more menu items!

This is a cute place, with a good atmosphere and the clientele are typically more upscale for sure but I’d agree with other reviews that the items are overpriced. Oddly enough, the macarons are the cheapest I’ve ever found and delicious. 12 for $10! Their baked goods, biscuits, etc are way better than their actual meal type options.

Not the place I would ever go back to. Their french ham sandwiches are a scam. I am French (from France) and have been eating French ham sandwiches all my life. The marché ‘s ham is prosciuto served on a small piece of bread which is not a baguette on top of hard squares of butter for $12.00. Never in my life could I even imagine that they call this a French ham sandwich. Their pastries are good. Now, to the main point of my review: check your receipt! On October 29 2025 I bought 3 small apple pies for my a birthday. I was at the counter 5 minutes and a male at the cash register packed them for me. To my dismay I checked the receipt when balancing my checking account a few days later and realized I had been charged an $8.50 tip. For what? Buying 3 pies. I wasn’t served at a table by a waiter! Watch out, they will rip you off. Double check everything. They are overpriced and not that good!

Nothing unpleasant to say about the service- the employee was kind. The coffee was good. However the food was abysmally bad for the price. It was $30 for a wrap with super market chicken tenders inside, as well as a pre packaged salad where you had to rip open plastic baggies to make it yourself. Seriously it reminded me of the food i grab for $7 at cumberland farms. There was some food in the case that looked good, so maybe that’s where all the positive reviews came from. Would literally never go back and will share with others how shocked I was by this experience, lol.

Open, airy, casual bakery/cafe. Offers a nice variety of croissants and yeasted rolls. Specialty coffees offered at the espresso bar. Has gluten free options. Offers breakfast and lunch prepared sandwiches, yogurt parfaits. Wide variety of pastries. Also offers catering service. Quality bottled wine available. Food and service were great. I enjoyed a warmed ham and cheese croissant. I’ll be back to try some of the the other items on their menu.

Le Marché on Shelburne Road is a must-visit!
We tried the Montreal steak and eggs for brunch, and it was delicious.
The maple lattes were a perfect pairing, and we couldn’t resist taking some kouign-amanns to go—they were heavenly!
Casual, relaxed vibe and good service make it a great spot.
Highly recommend!

Service is very slow. There’s one person taking orders at the front, and the line is often to the door. From previous experience, takeout is not always ready on time. This most recent time I went, the coffee was so hot it burnt me and my partner. Also, I find the spacing of tables extremely cramped; in the summer but especially in the winter when everyone has coats on chairs. I’ve come 3x hoping for a better experience and have not been impressed so far.

A delightful hidden gem in Shelburne, with fresh made pastries and sandwiches. The bustling cafe with locals and tourists was expeditiously served, a hand selected assortment of French products and wines.
