All we ordered was a hot cider and hot cocoa and it took 10+ minutes to receive our drinks. We also put in our number when checking out and received a text stating that our order was ready when it was not. Groups that ordered large meals after us got their food and drinks before we did. To top it all off, the woman handing our drinks to us was ON THE PHONE with a friend WHILE WORKING, and did not politely greet us in any way. Will not be coming back to this cafe if we visit the zoo again.

Trashy inside, bins over flowing with garbage. Broken soda machine that had the floor covered in soda, along with a horrible what id presume manger that had a horrible attitude to anyone who talked to him. Ordering can be confusing for people. Food honestly horrible only reason to eat is because you just have just sat there and wait for your food watching everyone else eat their’s that you’re so hungry you just eat the burger that just cost you 15 bucks and wonder why this is the only place in the zoo with real food

Employees were nice but standoff-ish, food was decent nothing to write home about. The main reason for the 2 stars is the place was filthy, the floors, the walls, the tables everything seemed grimy and sticky. It was a very slow day when I was at the zoo and only two other families in the cafe so its not like they were slammed and just haven’t been able to clean.

The food is on the pricy side but that is to be expected when eating at the Zoo in my opinion. I got the Pulled Pork Nachos, both my boyfriend & I really enjoyed them. The service is honestly awful. When we first walked in we saw one of the cashiers getting mad at a mother for asking where to get the food at when it was ready for pickup. The whole staff does not seem to be trained on customer service as we had multiple issue with the guy on the cleaning staff almost running into us as we were getting up from the table to grab stuff.

Aviary Cafe: It was an okay experience. It wasn’t exciting to look at on the inside. There was quite a line, and the prices were a little higher than I expected for the items they were selling. I would suggest just bringing a lunch. But if you forget, this is a great option.

Service is pretty standard for cafeteria food but man is this place gross. Food left over on tables everywhere, messy floors, it had a grime to every surface. The interior really needs a revamp and dedicated cleaning staff.

Absolutely delicious food!! Friendly service, our food was ready crazy fast. The floors were sticky, I’m guessing because they didn’t have lids for their cups and there are probably quite a few spills. We had a pretty view of the aviary.

Very different experience from two years ago, uncrowded and the service was slow. The bacon cheese burger was cold, and the bun was not grilled. And for the high price I would expect a fresh off the grill burger, not one cooked hours ago and kept in the fridge.
The seasoned fries were delicious and hot, go figure, at least the deep fryer was working. This was last week, today I think that I am eating lunch outside of the Zoo.

Only place for “real” food (not snacks or sweets) at the zoo. Be prepared to wait as it takes about 25 minutes to get one item on a weekday off-peak hours. Not sure why as there’s about a dozen employees milling around the registers. Online ordering is advertised but has never been available whenever we come. Prices are high but that’s expected for food at an attraction park. Only positive is that once your food finally arrives you’re starving so it tastes amazing.

Smash burger was good. Fries OK. Grilled chicken sandwich was not good. Didn’t open on time at 10 am. Door was unlocked but they made us leave. We had to get coffee elsewhere. Prices seemed appropriate for the venue. Reasonable wait for food. No signs signs indicating hours. No signs saying you can’t bring your own food. Indoor and outdoor seating. There are tables at windows looking into the aviary. The window glass needed cleaning. There was debris on the window sill and under the bench seats. The tables were unstable. There were clean all user family restrooms nearby.
