Laid back vibe. The barista was friendly and knew many people coming in by name. Someone had ordered a pickup and didn’t come get it for close to an hour, so she called to check in and make sure the order-er was ok. I thought that showed a lovely sense of community and caring.
Yummy drinks and bakery. I had the Ranger – a cinnamon white chocolate mocha – and it was fabulous! I don’t like super hot drinks, and the temp was perfect for me. The peach scone was light, moist and not too sweet. Again, just how I like it. If I return to River Falls, I’ll definitely stop here again.

Nice little coffee shop on the corner.
We were looking for a place to visit over coffee. We found this place on google maps and we’re on our way.
Without the help of google maps I would have had a hard time finding this place. They had a little chalkboard sign out front that helped tremendously.
We walked in and the smell was what I imagine heves smells like. The scent of coffee, sugar, vanilla etc.
We were greeted with a smile and the service was fast. The board has a list of signature drinks. I picked the Cleric and it was a new experience for me. I had not tried lavender in a coffee before so I didn’t know what to expect. Lavender is quite good, especially with white cocoa.
The place was packed but there were two empty chairs. We sat and enjoyed the ambiance. Comfortable, cozy, relatively quiet. There were artists sketching, people playing games, people visiting, and everyone looked like they were having a nice time.
This coffee shop is a little gem in River Falls.

I absolutely love Waystone. The atmosphere and people there are so welcoming that I regularly come in to order. I personally don’t like coffee but they have lots of other drink options. Their weary traveler sandwich is absolutly amazing, the perfect balance of sweet and savory, it brings a smile to my face whenever I buy it. With comfortable seating and art by local artists, I can spend anywhere between 10 minutes to multiple hours relaxing there. I definitely recommend giving it a try whenever you’re in town.

This fun fantasy themed café is a must visit. I have enjoyed every drink I’ve tried but my particular favorite is “the bard” a raspberry tea and lemonade drink that is always refreshing.

A pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great selection of games are available. It’s also a good Pokemon Go coffee spot. Great latte! This is an LGBTQA-friendly spot. Needs a recycle bin, though.

I’m visiting RF on academic business. It’s a nice, wooded 15 min walk from campus. The coffee is fresh, bold, and tasty. I’m a fan of lattes, and they’ve been fantastic. To-go cups, which I require, are tight and sturdy. Service is quick and clean; atmosphere is welcoming, music thoughtful, decor is deliberate. I hope local folks will realize what a gift they have. Thank you, Waystone, for being just that.

I asked the person behind the counter to go off menu and make me a cortado because I prefer espresso drinks, and it was AMAZING. Exactly what I needed. (thanks!) It’s a cute theme, and they had board games to play while you sipped your coffee. The baked goods looked good, and the jewelry for sale was so pretty, too.
UPDATE (20 min later): That cortado exceeded expectations. As someone with very specific coffee preferences (single origin light roast pour overs, tiny espressos, etc.), that coffee rocked my world (& not just because I needed caffeine). It was incredibly smooth with a truly heavenly flavor.
If you’re around who scans review pictures for $10k espresso machines and looks for buzzwords like “flavor notes of blueberry and peach” and “artisanal” to select your coffee shop, have no fear, this place will not disappoint. You might not be able to get a pour over (yet) but you will certainly be satisfied if not delighted.
And if you’re someone who typically buys generic dark roast K-cups in bulk, prepare to drink a coffee that may convince you to start buying fancier coffee, consider getting a Nespresso, or at least, coming back here more often to have your taste buds wowed again and again.

One of my favorite places in Riverfalls. You really can’t go wrong with any of the drinks, I really enjoy the Druid & the Barbarian. They often have some food/pastries there, so always check them out or follow their account on Instagram!
