Service was good and quick. Had good recommendations from the waiter.
The portions are quite large, the food is fresh and tastes excellent.
We were efficiently served by a charming, English speaking young man who never kept us waiting. Overall, a lovely experience and a good value.
I left accidentally couple of $100 after dinner, and it was returned to me as soon as I came back.
High recommended
Fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor! Punta Azul nails what Peruvian seafood should taste like — from perfectly seasoned ceviche to tender pulpo and juicy arroz con mariscos. The place buzzes with energy, and the service is quick even when it’s packed. It’s that classic Lima spot where locals and travelers meet over pisco sours and fresh catches. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic coastal Peruvian cuisine!
Cheers
I walked in just before noon and the place was already buzzing. No frills, no pretentious plating — just solid, flavour-packed Peruvian seafood done right.
They start you off with a bowl of cancha (toasted corn) and a small bowl of spicy salsa — a salty, crunchy prelude that sets the tone.
Then came the ceviche mixto (pescado y pulpo) — fresh chunks of fish and tender octopus, marinated in a bold leche de tigre. Creamy, citrusy, assertive. The sweet potato and choclo on the side round it off with earthy sweetness and chew. I’ve had ceviche in Chile, but this? Different league. Brighter, more acidic, more alive. The Peruvians own this dish, hands down.
A warm bowl of fish broth (caldito) also arrived unannounced — a comforting, herby sip in between bites.
Wrapped up the meal with a merengado de chirimoya, a light but decadent dessert that brings together tropical fruit, crisp meringue, and fresh strawberries. A surprising win — and very Peruvian.
Total bill: PEN 80
Dishes tried:
• Ceviche Pescado Pulpo (56 PEN)
• Merengado de Chirimoya (24 PEN)
Pro tips:
✅ Come early or expect a queue
✅ Service is quick and friendly
✅ Portions are generous
✅ Dessert is worth saving space for
The service was a little slow, but that’s understandable given how popular the restaurant is for its excellent food. The atmosphere has a great vibe, though it did get quite loud with all the guests and music. Not unpleasant, but something to keep in mind if you prefer a quieter setting.
First and most importantly, the service attitude and overall service process were extremely poor. From entering the restaurant to being seated, ordering, receiving the food, and finally paying the bill, there were unnecessary and excessive waits at every step. Because of the language barrier, I raised my card to ask for the bill. From the moment the staff noticed me to the moment I was finally able to pay, I waited about 10 minutes. What I don’t understand is why, after noticing me, they chose to clean tables instead of helping me pay.
A man at the next table asked to pay much later than I did, yet his request was handled immediately, while I was made to wait even longer (including extra time spent on table cleaning). This made me feel ignored and treated unfairly.
After I was seated and had already ordered, I was asked to change tables. The female server was polite, so I agreed. However, the new table was next to a group that seemed to be celebrating. They were constantly banging on the table and making loud noises, to the point that the entire floor was shaking. This seriously affected my dining experience, and no staff member tried to intervene or improve the situation.
As for the food, it may be due to cultural differences or simply personal taste, but I found it very hard to accept. The overall flavor was not good. The only dish that was somewhat acceptable was the cooked shrimp. The octopus and meat were basically raw, very sour, and served cold. I personally could not eat them and found the food extremely unpleasant. I understand that some of this may come down to communication issues, but this was still a major part of my disappointment.
That said, the drinks were good — the pineapple juice in Lima was especially delicious.
Additionally, the prices offered no advantage at all and were completely mismatched with the overall experience, one dishes and one drink cost me over100especially after everything I went through.
Overall, I was deeply disappointed with the food, service, and environment. I will not return and do not recommend this place. I truly regret choosing to dine here.
