The person taking my order was friendly but didn’t take down our order of spam musubi (I think they forgot to put it into their system since they did repeat that I wanted musubi). It was a 15 minute wait or so to get our food and drinks so we decided to forgo it. That being said, the food we received was a good amount so we wouldn’t have been able to finish it anyway.
The mango boba drink had still-frozen boba. The slushie itself was fine (but super sweet!) and hit the spot on such a hot day, but next time I’d ask for no boba and just the fruit slushie.
I enjoyed the manapua (pork bun) and the food was a great price for the amount. The pineapple orange chicken was quite sweet (which I liked) and the chicken was juicy. I’d order both of those again, especially for the price! It was $4 for the chicken bowl. My family member ordered the mahi mahi plate and was satisfied with the fish.

Wife loved it. Got the seafood mix. Came with soy, lemon, and tartar sauce. Great quality for the price.

We decided Hawaiian Food sounded good tonight. We didn’t want to travel far and found Maui Express online. A small location in the Grossmont Shopping center food court. The menu looked great when we saw it. We chose the seafood plate and the orange/pineapple chicken. Oh boy what a great choice. We have plenty of food for the 2 of us. The flavors that come out in the food is so amazing. It’s a mom and pop spot and they put out quality food. Even last minute as we went in at 730pm and they closed at 8pm. Please go support this location. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely mom & pop Hawaiian cuisine in the Grossmont Center food court. I came after a quick trip to Sharp Grossmont next door. I honestly haven’t been in years but it seems like prices haven’t changed much. I got a coffee boba for 3.99 and the Loco moto was filling. Perfect for anyone looking for good value but also a good homecooked meal from a wonderful duo.

Portions for the price are definitely not worth it

Order for myself & a friend. Got the seafood combo & chicken combo & 2 veggi egg rolls. The chicken combo consist of grilled chicken & Katsu chicken along w/2 scoops of rice & macaroni salad. The grilled chicken was pretty tasty, katso was more breaded than chicken. Mac salad wasn’t anything to bragg about. The seafood combo was a joke! The fish Maui were fish sticks, shrimp more breaded than shrimp & over cooked.

I love the bbq chicken bowl. Most items are made to order and the staff is always so friendly.

My food was not horrible, but not tender and had no sauce it was dry. The macaroni salad was ok. When I ate a bite of beef with the macaroni salad, it was great. I had two scoops of rice and only one macaroni salad. It would be nice to have a choice

It’s definitely a small mom and pop shop! It’s in the food court at the grossmont center. The food is very cheap! I ordered French fries, pineapple orange chicken bowl and a musubi and it all came out to less than $14.
I will be back for a quick bite

I’ve only had snacks here while on break, but the musubi and the manapua are delicious and convenient for a stroll around the mall.
The couple that runs it are very nice and make the dishes as they’re ordered.
