I was in the mood for Chinese food and decided to try somewhere new. I placed a to-go order, but the price was way higher than I expected. When I arrived, the restaurant looked really run-down, the fence was leaning over, and the inside wasn’t clean or inviting at all. There was a noticeable stench, and it was clear the place hadn’t been updated in years. I could see parts of the kitchen from where I was standing, and honestly, it didn’t look too clean either. When you don’t keep up and maintain the business that pays you says a lot about the ownership. Despite all that, I stayed optimistic. Sometimes the least appealing spots make great food. Not this time. The shrimp fried rice was so light it was basically white rice, with barely any shrimp at all (the smallest I’ve ever seen), and they weren’t even deveined, so I didn’t eat it. The shrimp egg foo young was a letdown too, I couldn’t find any shrimp in it, and the gravy smelled awful. I wasn’t eating that either. Finally, the sweet and sour chicken was a disappointment: the sauce was super thin, so I passed on that as well. All in all, it was the biggest waste of money. I should have known when I saw there were no cars in the parking lot. Lesson learned: I’ll stick to the places I know are good. I hate wasting my money.

Sauce was all over bag, and food leaving a big mess everywhere. food was good, a little cold especially after having to wait from cleaning up the sauce mess.
Take out Aug. 27th 530pm.
Update to response: I am very positive I did place a take out order on that day around that time. The car drive was not more then five minutes with a responsible adult holding order in their lap. I’m not sure why the sauce was all over, possibly the lids were not possibly placed (?).

Very good food. The place is small and looks like it needs some renovation and sprucing up. (Maybe they lease the building) they had about 5 tables, there may be more in a different room. I found the portion sizes to be slightly on the small side, the rice was sticky – that could be a preference for them. Mongolian beef, curry beef and chix almond ding. The curry beef my son ordered was very mild he asked for hot, however the curry was very bold in flavor. The almond ding had its own unique but good flavor according to my wife. I enjoyed my Mongolian beef very much, even the 2 chewy chunks I came across. I’m from out of town but would try it again if the mood was right. Small place, needs a little life brought into it to be GREAT! Our hostess was very pleasant.

I rarely eat Chinese as I’m just not a big fan (not my go to food) so when I was craving it this weekend, my daughter and I ordered from here. I love sweet and sour chicken and most Chinese places do not put veggies or pineapple or anything in their sweet and sour sauces anymore. Cantonese House had pineapple, peppers, and onion in the sauce. It was so good. My daughter got the spicy lo-mein and she enjoyed it, but will get hotter next time 😉 I also ordered an egg roll and Teriyaki Chicken and both were fantastic. I’m picky about my egg rolls and the egg roll was delicious! Will be eating here again.

This is a real hidden gem of Union Grove. The food was REALLY good. I ordered the pepper chicken, fried wantons, and hot & sour soup. Everything was delicious. I’ve been living here for half a year and was hesitant to try it because the sign looks pretty dated. But I’m glad I tried it out, because I’ll definitely be back again. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you’re missing out!

I’ve lived in Union Grove for just over a year and this is by far my favorite place for an easy dinner. The customer service is out of this world nice and the food is great. High quality chicken and great noodles. A quick and easy dinner for when you don’t want to cook. They’re amazing and hope everyone in the area knows there’s good Chinese food ready in 15-20 minutes! Take advantage of this wonderful staple of the community.

Don’t know why we haven’t went here sooner. We have been in a handful of times in the last few months and food is always super fresh and tasty!!
Your sweet and sour sauce is amazing!
Egg rolls are very fresh and not greasy like other Chinese places!
And we always have to get an order of crab rangoons!
Kudos also to your customer service. Always top notch and extremely friendly!

The experience started good and ended good. From the moment you walk in you will be greeted with a smile. I did takeout and the order process was quick and simple. The food was very filling and tasty. The beef lo mein was great and I was given a decent amount of beef in it. I’d recommend trying out the food here if you are looking for a good filling meal. I’ll definitely order again!

I’ve been wanting to come out here and try the food for almost 2 years. Today was finally the day. We headed out to the restaurant. Though they’re not serving inside yet, we ordered our food and sat outside to eat. Everything was ridiculously fresh. I’ve posted pictures of all the dishes we tried. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. The proprietors were friendly and accommodating. When you walk in it smells like entering a restaurant in Chicago’s Chinatown. If you’re hankering for some fresh authentic Cantonese, I highly recommend you stop by.
