Stopped for lunch on a Saturday after touring the National Park. They were only doing breakfast menu which was communicated up front as a Saturday thing. I like breakfast food so I could live with that. I ordered shrimp and grits which they didn’t have all the ingredients to make. The combo of limited menu and lack of first choice cost them a star. I settled for the farmers omelet, bacon, sausage, potatoes with a little scallion garnish. It was a good omelet, well constructed with generous filling. Actually my favorite was the grits. They were a bit more coarse than most, nice thick consistency and a little pat of butter made them awesome. The lady who was my server was pleasant and checked in often enough.

We are visiting from the upstate and gave Meal on the Hill a chance. Coming from a place full of restaurants my expectations are very high. When we entered we were met by the head chef/ co-owner with a genuine greeting. Once our temperatures were taken and sanitizer was offered we made our way to a clean stocked table of our choice. I had the hillbilly burger with fries. It was a big burger with plenty o’ stuff on it. My husband had the special; Salmon on a bed of jasmine rice with a corn/vegetable mix for both color and texture. Both were great and to see an elevated dish like the salmon was a great treat. Please if you are in the area give them a try. The food and definitely the service will make you come back.

During a tennis rainout at Lander University nearby, we drove here to see the Ninety-Six battlefield on Father’s Day. We entered and accepted hand sanitizer and there were 3 meals to choose from for Father’s Day for a reasonable price including steak, flounder, and lemon chicken with great sides including zucchini, baked potatoes, green beans, and Mac and Cheese. Also included cake and drink. Wonderful service and experience!

Even though the coffee maker broke just before we arrived, the food here was amazing. The beautiful couple running the place made us feel at home and served one of the best omelettes we’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be returning when we go back to Ninety Six.

We stopped in for lunch the other day spur of the moment. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Co-owner/Chef Michael, who had a big welcoming smile & who took excellent care of us. My wife had the fried Flounder sandwich and I had the Turkey Club sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious & the service was even better! As a special treat for dessert, we shared the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast…Amazing!! As we were leaving, we also had the opportunity to meet Michael’s wife & Co-owner Faith. She was very sweet & it’s obvious this lovely couple truly cares about their customers. We’re so happy we stopped into this little restaurant & we’ll definitely return next time we’re in Ninety Six!!

Just left this little gem! Great little location and fantastic food. We ate the hot dog special with chili, onions and slaw. French fries were seasoned to perfection! Had the soup of the day (loaded baked potato soup) which was also delicious!
I can’t write this without noting the personalities of the owner/staff. We walked in 45 minutes before closing with a party of 5. We were greeted with smiling faces and a warm welcome. We did not feel rushed and enjoyed our food comfortably.
Prices were extremely reasonably and we left more than satiated.
Can’t wait to to visit again!

Wow, what a gem! It’s so easy to skip over Ninety-six, but if you’re ever in town, or a surrounding city looking for an authentic, southern cooked meal that feels like you’re dining with family…then look no further!!
On this particular day, I had the flounder sandwich (American bun, flounder filet, lettuce, tomato, onion, tartar sauce) with a side of crispy, seasoned fries and the blueberry stuffed French toast with FRESH blueberry compote and home whipped cream!
I 10/10 WOULD recommend!! From customer service, atmosphere, presentation and quality, this is the best bang for your buck.
Whether you’re looking for brunch, a satisfying dinner after Sunday service, or a juicy flame-grilled burger after a game, Meal on the Hill should be your #1 home cooked meal destination.
