Inspired by the spice routes of Asia and the Far East, Omboo serves up mouthfuls of fragrant pan-Asian flavours. Our service philosophy is simply “when ready”; there are no starters or mains when dining at Omboo, your selection of sharing platters are simply delivered to your table fresh out of the kitchen when ready. Omboo is the place to go when you want to try something a little different, when dining out requires more than just a meal, when it involves new experiences, laughter and sake shared with good friends.

Faultless and memorable!
I would highly recommend everything that we ate from this menu and we will most certainly be coming back again for my own birthday in December.
Thank you again to Freddie and the rest of the staff for making our time here so memorable.
What made the evening even more special was how the waitress went above and beyond for my dad’s birthday. Her attention to detail and thoughtful gestures created such a memorable celebration for him, and we were so touched by her kindness.
The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant were lovely—elegant yet welcoming—and the cleanliness was impeccable. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining both the food quality and the space itself – we were speechless. We will definitely be coming back!
The food itself was good, nothing extraordinary though. Desert was quite disappointing – I think they did not defrost it enough, so my parfait was more like a sorbet. We had a good waitress but when we were done with the food we could not get anyone to bring us the bill for 15 min – no one was paying attention to us.
The most unpleasant experience came when we were checking out. I billed the remaining balance (excluding this deposit) to the room, and decided to leave additional tip for the waitress who was good, rounding the total sum and writing the total in the field “Total” – the staff, however, took the amount I wrote down as the amount of gratuity, effectively doubling the bill. We were quite surprised to see it in our invoice. Thankfully, hotel reception was able to easily recover all the documents, saw that the restaurant did not record it correctly, and amended our final invoice.
I guess this could have been a genuine mistake but, to be honest, it’s hard to believe that they honestly thought that my tip was bigger than the bill itself.
It obviously left us very frustrated – this is not something you want to deal with during what supposed to be a relaxing weekend.
The staff are friendly and service was great!
We visited to celebrate our 2nd Wedding Anniversary, it was a lovely touch for the team with the special dish at the end congratulating us! ❤️
We both opted for the set menu with the black cod, in some places you worry if the set menu would be enough and if you needed to order more.
Not to worry here! The quantity of the set menu we would say is very generous and providing a nice variety for all your different tastes!
We will definitely come back again! ❤️
The standout dish was the Soft Shell Crab, which was both well-executed and unique—a rarity on many menus. The lobster rice was also enjoyable but did not justify its steep price tag. Beyond these, the overall experience was disappointing. After spending £300 and sampling nearly the entire menu, we left feeling unsatisfied and underwhelmed.
The noodle dish, in particular, was overly greasy and lacked the depth of flavor one would expect, resembling a subpar takeaway option. Portion sizes across most dishes were notably small, leaving much to be desired in terms of value for money.
That said, the Chocolate Fondant was exceptional—10/10 and quite possibly the best we’ve ever had. The cocktails were also a highlight, well-crafted and enjoyable. These elements redeemed the experience somewhat, and they are the reason we rated the restaurant 3/5 rather than lower. While Oombu aspires to be a high-end Asian dining destination, it ultimately failed to deliver on both quality and satisfaction. Regrettably, we will not return, which is a shame given the lack of similar upscale Asian restaurants in the area.
