There may be chicken on the Outer Banks, but it is NOT this chicken. Amazing quality, good size pieces, perfect breading. Excellent prices for half chicken or whole bird ( two each – breast, wing, thigh and leg). Small one-man operation in limited space. Press buzzer to be greeted by your chef who opens the window and fills your order with the best chicken you can find.

Disappointed with our dinner here. Got the whole bird combo.
They were out of coleslaw so told us they could do fries. I walked up to order and was told 30 minutes.
I came back 30min later and my order was coming out so they got that right.
-The Mac and cheese was delicious
-The fries were inedibly underdone.
-The chicken was lightly breaded, much moreso than I saw on other photos I’ve seen in reviews here. The skin was not crispy at all. The flavor was great and the chicken was very tender and juicy. Definitely closer to underdone than overdone, but not concerningly so.
If the chicken was better cooked and breaded and the fries were done it would’ve been a great meal I think.

This was great fried chicken. The outside was very crispy and the inside was moist! (Sorry people who hate that word). They accommodate a larger party and had it ready in time. Price was far! The Mac n cheese was also great! Would recommend for a vacation dinner night!

Overall, the experience here was alright. The chicken and coating were both a bit over cooked and chewy (I appreciate it not being under cooked). The sides were disappointing: mac & cheese with not much flavor and the fries were soggy. It’s possible this could have just been an off day.

My family is here From out of town and we came to get take out with it pouring outside. The store is a small window where the guy was working solo. Even being noticeably busy, he was extremely nice and helpful with the menu (I wasn’t sure how much food I should get for 10 people). Our large food order took about 25 minutes and it was fantastic. The chicken portions are great. the tenders are juicy and not all breading like some places. It’s also well seasoned and packed with flavor. The fries and Mac were awesome as well and he hooked us up with plenty of dipping sauces. Will definitely make this our takeout spot when we come back for vacation.

We purchased 4 8piece chickens,coleslaw, mac & cheese & fries. I ordered ahead of time for pickup later that day. Guy working the front was super helpful and friendly! Chicken was delicious! Huge pieces! Had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Coleslaw and fries were yummy. The mac & cheese was cold & too creamy. We all agreed it would be better if baked.

From up north and on vacation in OBX — one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Store is run by one young gentleman as cook/owner and the quality shows. I wish I could have eaten it in more bites but it was so good. Batter was sensational, chicken was cooked perfectly, pickles on side and added and the Cookshak sauce was the topper. All around 10/10 for a full belly for under $10. Well done, Sir. Keep doing what you’re doing!
