Freddie’s Kitchen is a modern bistro and bar serving French California cuisine with global influences, thoughtfully prepared using classic technique and high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
Our approach is intentionally relaxed. We focus on what matters most: the food, while keeping the space comfortable, un-fussy, and genuinely welcoming. Freddie brings creativity and care to each dish, re-imagining familiar flavors into memorable bites that feel both elevated and comforting.
The result is fine-dining–quality cuisine without the formality, meant to be shared with family and friends over cocktails, conversation, and an easy, unhurried meal.
We look forward to serving you! Sante’

We traveled for 10 days through the U.S. Southwest, went through 9 cities, had many experiences, but Freeddie’s food was the best of the trip! What a pleasant surprise! The onion soup was incredible! The dishes were a show on their own! The wine was of excellent quality, and the service was five-star! Congratulations!

It was our first time dinning at Freddies and we were not disappointed. We were met at the front door by our server, Marco. He was friendly, knowledgeable and offered great menu recommendations. Three of us picked the special pork chops. Every dish, was crafted by Chef Frederic, appetizing, full of flavor and well plated. There were no bad notes. The wine list was unique and interesting and one could tell it was designed specifically to be paired with the menu offerings. During our meal, Chef Frederic personally visited our table which enhanced our overall experience. After our lovely meal, Freddies is one of our new favorite spots in the desert. In fact, we have already planned our next visit.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. This must be the best kept secret in the Palm Springs dining scene. This is a small, intimate restaurant with some of the best food I’ve had in Palm Springs. Chef Freddy is amazing, he’s very personable and he’s very proud of his cooking and he should be. I think we sampled almost everything on the menu and it was all fantastic. You can’t go wrong. The service is also fantastic.
One last thing, don’t skip the desserts they’re all amazing.

At our last meal of our week vacationing in Palm Springs we had one of our best dinners, at unassuming Freddie’s Kitchen. It’s casual and friendly, with incredible food from a French Chef, Frederic Peirrel, served by the efficient and super friendly Marco. I loved the mushroom appetizer, Caesar salad and delicious fresh cod followed by a lovely crème brulee. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the offerings. Will definitely return again someday.

We’ve been fans of Chef for years, having enjoyed his food at his restaurants in Mammoth Lakes, CA. So we were excited to visit this restaurant during a visit to Palm Springs… and it didn’t disappoint. From start to finish, the food was excellent. Our party of 5 enjoyed all the dishes, with favorites being the escargot, French onion soup, and the elk. The service was friendly, attentive, and personable, with Chef checking in on us (and all the other tables) several times. Definitely recommend.

OMG don’t walk but run there! The food is unbelievable! We had the tomato salad and bread to start. Both were great and you must have both. A table near us has the mushroom special and they raved! I had the cod and my husband had the duck. He is never happy when he orders duck; he was happy! Bread pudding for dessert was on point! What a great meal and reasonable prices! This is an experience not to be rushed!

Everything we ordered at Freddie’s was great: escargots, duck, black cod, creme brulee, cocktails and champagne but what made the evening special was an unexpected treat from the chef. He brought us a sample of ratatouille he had made for his wife and wanted to share. It was extraordinary. Since returning to Ohio, we have tried ratatouille again, and nothing has come close. Freddie’s spoiled us in the best possible way

Great French restaurant
Service: Excellent. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, and they are always happy to answer any questions. The chef even came out to introduce himself and talk about the dishes.
Food: Delicious. The menu features classic French dishes, all made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I started with the escargot, which were perfectly cooked and served with a rich and flavorful sauce and crispy baguette. For my main course, I had the special pork, which was tender and juicy. The bread pudding from croissant for dessert was moist and decadent.
Overall: I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great French dining experience.
Additional Comments:
The coffee was excellent and a perfect match for the dessert.
The chef was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food.
I would definitely return to this restaurant.
The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and service.

Freddie’s Kitchen is beyond amazing — intimate, delightful, and downright delicious. The menu may look small, but it’s mighty! Chef Freddie knows exactly what he’s doing, and he does it on a level unmatched anywhere in Palm Springs.
Last night’s dinner was pure perfection. The soupe de poisson special took our taste buds straight to heaven, my miso black cod was an incredible experience in flavor and texture, and Jeff’s elk medallions were absolute perfection — both in presentation and taste. And whatever you do, don’t skip the chocolate mousse — it’s the best you’ll find this side of France!
Service from Marco was spot-on as always, and Chef Freddie’s personal visit to the table truly completes the experience. Elegant, warm, and unforgettable — Freddie’s Kitchen is what dining in Palm Springs should be.
