BEST FOOD IN BELIZE. Never imagine I would stumbled upon authentic Indian cuisine in Central America. Really close with the bus terminal, so if you are in transit, you def need to visit this place. Shekar(the owner) is so warm and friendly.

Shekar Indian Restaurant has delicious Indian food at great prices. I had the Lamb Rogan Josh and it was absolutely fantastic; all of the side dishes compliment perfectly. For less than $20 you will be filled and possibly have more left for later. 10/10 highly recommended.

This place was probably my favorite place I ate while in Belize! If you’re an Indian fan, it’s worth the stop!! Better than half of the Indian food I ate while traveling in India not to mention the owner is a gem and could easily charge double the price

One of the best Indian meals I’ve had! The food was amazing, one of those meals where you savor every bite! Portions are huge, service is great and the price is so reasonable! We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve had Indian food in many places and this was definitely some of the most flavorful, authentic, spicy meaning lots of delicious, fresh herbs and spices and well seasoned veggies and meats, I have ever had. It took a bit to get our food but it was made fresh and right in front of us. Shekar and his family were so hospitable and so kind; they made sure we were doing okay and asked if we needed anything multiple times. They were friendly as were the locals eating there too, who also mentioned this was the best food, best price and freshest. I heard from locals that next door they will try to get you to spend more if you don’t look to be from the Area and quality is just not there; they allegedly cater to big tour groups because they know tour guides. But we did not eat there so I cannot say more but we are So happy we ate our last meal in Belize at shekar’s!! (Not pictured the lamb Rogan josh and chicken vindaloo—-top notch!) super filling with all the naan veggies too (you get one of each veggie!)

Every bite was absolutely delicious. The food was freshly made, with great portions at a good price. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The owner was very personable – you can tell they cook with love of flavor and hosting others.

After a few days in Belize, we were wanting to eat Indian food and came across Shekar’s restaurant in Belmopan, near the bus station. Shekar was very friendly and talked to us about how he came to Belize etc while he was cooking for us. We ordered some biryani, gobi Manchurian and fried rice. Everything was made fresh as we watched and he packed up everything since we wanted it as take away and gave us extra raita as well. His wife then made us some chai as well! Food was really good and we went back the next day to order again! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for Indian food in Belmopan!

Excellent food for a very reasonable price! Shekar and his wife are very friendly and helpful and cook delicious food. Highly recommend the Chana masala and daal tadka. Best food I’ve had in Belize! Great for gluten free and vegetarians also
