The burger was juicy, flavorful, and stacked perfectly with crisp lettuce, melted cheese, and smoky bacon on a soft bun. The fries were thick, golden, and came with flavorful dipping sauces.
I also treated myself to a classic root beer float, and it was the perfect nostalgic touch, creamy, fizzy, and absolutely delicious. The Stubborn soda on the side was great too.
Yes, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but that’s expected when you’re paying for fresh, quality food rather than fast food. The ingredients taste real, the portions are generous, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a good meal.

We were in the area and decided to check out the Vista location since we’ve been to the Escondido one before and liked it. It was pretty busy that day, but we still got our food quickly, and everything was super tasty.
We ordered cheeseburgers (classic!), the slider trio for the kiddos, and I got the Caesar salad, which totally hit the spot. We also tried the chicken wings, and wow, they were juicy, meaty, and had just the right amount of crisp.
Even though you order at the counter, the staff was really attentive, bussing tables, and just generally friendly. It’s casual, but the service made it feel a step up. We’ll definitely be back.

Grassfed Burgers $2 extra and everything is a la carte so you pay a lot to eat here. $5.50 just for the soda, $7.50 for a side of onion rings and the Smokehouse Burger is $15.50 with Grassfed. It was very good though. But the bun is too thick, can’t take a bite—and tastes too bready —rather taste the burger and toppings than a mouth full of bun. Friendly team working. Indoor/Outdoor seating. Good Black Cherry Soda. Cilantro Aioli is the best! Lots of great sauce options. Onion Rings could be better if they cooked in fresh grease (needs changing) and didn’t over fry, some pieces were burnt and only shell, no onion.
Parking is mostly street, there are some small parking lots around.

Delicious burgers in a big space. There are plenty of options of burgers, fried chicken, grilled cheese, salads and beer. The servers were helpful. It wasn’t too busy on a weekday lunch.

I’ll give this a five. I’m glad there’s a burger place downtown now. Service was friendly and reasonably quick.
I got a Swiss mushroom burger and he got triple sliders featuring the Swiss mushroom, BBQ, and chicken slider.
Sides are sold separately, we shared a truffle parm fries.
Burgers are made “medium” unless you request otherwise – I figured that would be fine, but it was pretty well-done for my taste so I’ll ask for med rare next time, but I enjoyed the flavors on the burger. The brioche bun was very nice.
They had a selection of beers, but also a few cider/seltzer/kombucha type options which is great for those who don’t like beer.
As a side note, yes their patio seating is dog friendly, but it’s a small patio and there is only room for a couple tables outside so hopefully they’re not already taken if you bring your pup.

I recently visited Burger Bench in Vista after completing my Spartan Race, and it turned out to be the perfect post-race meal. I ordered a regular cheeseburger topped with avocado and thick, satisfying bacon. Burger was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, exactly what I was craving.
I also tried their kombucha, and I must say it was the best I’ve ever had from a local Vista restaurant—refreshing and delicious. It was the Artifex pink guava mango. Must try!
The steak fries were another highlight; they were crispy without being overly greasy, making them a delightful side.
Although I got my drink for their and my food to go I enjoyed it at home, everything maintained its quality. Burger Bench is definitely a standout burger joint in downtown Vista. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a great spot to relax and enjoy a hearty burger meal.

Delicious burgers and sinfully good shakes! Both times I’ve been there the service was fast and friendly, and our server gave us excellent recommendations for their shakes (which are incredible) Their patio is dog friendly and their beer selection is good. Highly recommend going for lunch or dinner! I’ve had the chorizo Diablo burger, Bench burger AND the Smokehouse burger so far but want to go back for their chicken sandwich one day. Definitely worth a stop!

21Nov2025 was my first visit, recommended the day before by moneca of the quilt shop.
I ordered the cheeseburger with grilled onions and added raw onions and a bit of mustard. My first bite was a delight for my taste buds!!

Steve, Ome, and Tyler looked out for my wife and I more than once on different visits. I had Arugal apple salad with blackened chicken. It was filling and great. My wife had the the Sunrise burger. I stole a couple bits and it was sooooo tasty. one of the best places in Vista.
