My boyfriend and I stopped here for breakfast. Before heading over to Buffalo Trace for a tour. The food was phenomenal. Just what we were looking for. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy. The atmosphere was amazing it was like being at a friend’s house for breakfast! Melisa took such good care of us. Definitely give it a try you won’t regret it!

Great homemade food – couldnt be better Great service. Price for 2 of us was about twenty bucks. It’s a dive so atmosphere is what it is. We just wanted good food at a modest cost. (Maybe hire someone to clean…especially restrooms and floors are icky. We can see you’re trying to do it all with a tiny team.)

Great find! The food was great and everyone was friendly. We showed up 30 minutes before closing time and they waited on us like they had just opened. Btw 15 minutes prior to closing is the cut-off. We ordered the catfish plate with greens & cabbage and the chicken fried steak with greens & mashed potatoes. Everything tasted fresh and had that good ole homemade flavor! That’s fried cornbread they brought out which is also made per order. I could tell they were tired at the end of their shift but they still handed out smiles and conversations. We didn’t know it until we were leaving but Melisa herself had waited on us while we were there. We plan on stopping back by for breakfast when we come through the area again! Google maps took us right to the place. They are located on the upper left corner of the building. Inside and outside seating available.

This is definitely one of the best places in town for breakfast. The country fried steak is superb. The grits are good. The biscuits are light and fluffy.

It’s also a lot of fun watching the staff interact with their regulars. Great atmosphere, just be careful not to sit directly under the vent when it’s cold out.

10/10 you should go here. What are you waiting for?

We stopped by Melisa’s on our way thru. Wife had the biscuits and gravy and the biscuits were outstanding. So was the sausage gravy. Melisa made us feel very welcomed, and watching all of the locals come in and the love was obvious. If you get the chance, stop in for a great breakfast and a beautiful soul that will make you feel like a local. Thank you, Melisa

Don’t pass this diner up. We stopped here while on the bourbon trail based on the reviews, and everyone was spot on. Melisa and team are phenomenonal, making you feel like a regular as soon as you walk in. Food was flavorful, plentiful and decently priced. We had the omelet (made any way you want) with hash browns and biscuits (all sooooo good). Also, the grits, 2 sunny side up eggs with bacon and biscuits (grits the way they should be). Service with a smile and Melisa truly cares about her customers. Please don’t pass up!!

A very nice hole in the wall restaurant. Needs more seating, maybe one or two outside tables. I got the biscuit and gravy with eggs and bacon and thought it was very good.

It is what it is. We had chicken fried steak and eggs. Melisa had to turn the friers on for us, so we waited patiently. We shared biscuits and gravy while we waited. The food was good and hardy, and nothing fru fru was added. Actual hash browned potatoes, ax well. The price was also phenomenal.

Passing through the area and google best breakfast spots, Melisa’s was one of the choices. I went to check it out and glad I did. Walked in and the it was just a great small town experience. Everyone from customers to staff are extremely friendly. Plus the breakfast was excellent, portions are plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend!

My friends and I got breakfast at Melisa’s Diner during our stay in Frankfurt while traversing the Bourbon Trail. It was the perfect comfort food to start our day. Clean restaurant, prompt, friendly service, and tasty food that won’t break your budget. It’s pretty small, so plan to go before “rush hour.” If I could give them bonus stars for hospitality, I would. I left my Yeti tumbler behind and they kindly mailed it home to me, since we were two hours away before we realized what had happened. Thanks again, Melisa and friends!
